The early morning light filtered through the blinds of Lin's office, casting soft shadows on the neatly organized stacks of paperwork. Lin sat behind her desk, her attention focused on the final draft of the legal documents spread out before her. Her fingers moved quickly over the keyboard as she reviewed the case against the developers, ensuring every detail was in order.

May hovered nearby, observing Lin's focused expression with a mixture of curiosity and admiration. "I've got to say, Lin, watching you work is kind of impressive. I mean, I barely understand half of what you're doing, but it looks intense."

Lin glanced up, a small smile tugging at her lips. "It's just paperwork, May. Nothing too glamorous."

May grinned. "Yeah, but it's not every day you see a lawyer taking down shady developers for a ghost. You're like some kind of legal superhero."

Lin shook her head, amused. "I don't know about that. But it does feel good to wrap this up. Mrs. Green and Margaret deserve some peace."

Just then, Karen entered the office, her face lighting up with excitement as she held up a thick file. "Lin, I just got the confirmation from the court. The order is official! Margaret's property is safe, and the developers have been slapped with fines for their harassment tactics."

Lin let out a sigh of relief, leaning back in her chair. "That's great news, Karen. Thanks for staying on top of it."

Karen beamed, clearly pleased. "I didn't do much. You did the heavy lifting. I'm just glad we got a win on this one."

May's eyes darted between Karen and Lin, a playful smile forming on her lips. "So, what now? Do we throw a victory party? Maybe Karen can finally convince you to take a break for once."

Lin chuckled softly. "No victory parties today, but taking a short break doesn't sound like the worst idea."

Karen smirked and pointed toward a small snack box she had left on Lin's desk earlier. "Well, I know you've been glued to your desk, so I picked up some of your favorite snacks when I went out for coffee. Just in case you forget to grab lunch again."

Lin glanced at the snack box, smiling with appreciation. "Thanks, Karen. That's thoughtful of you."

Karen shrugged casually, still grinning. "No problem. Consider it part of my 'keeping-you-functioning' duties."

May watched the interaction with amusement, but something flickered behind her playful expression—a sense of reflection. She drifted closer, her voice light but tinged with curiosity. "Looks like you've got a good team watching out for you, huh?"

Lin shot May a quick glance, amused by her observation. "Karen's always looking out for me. Couldn't do it all without her."

Karen smiled warmly at the comment. "Well, we make a pretty good team. But seriously, make sure you step away from the desk at some point today. You've been working non-stop."

Lin nodded appreciatively. "I will. Thanks, Karen. I mean it."

"Anytime," Karen replied, giving Lin a supportive pat on the shoulder before heading out of the office. "Just holler if you need anything."

After Karen left, Lin turned to May, who floated near her with a grin on her face. "See? You really should take her advice and step away for a bit. Even superheroes need to recharge."

Lin laughed softly, standing up and stretching her arms. "I'll keep that in mind. But right now, I think we have another mystery to solve."

May's eyes sparkled with anticipation. "Oh? Are you finally going to help me figure out my mysterious, glamorous past?"
