The air was thick with the scent of fresh marigolds and roses. The soft, golden light of the late afternoon bathed the courtyard, where most of the festivities would take place. Bright yellow drapes hung from above, crisscrossing over the garden, casting a soft glow over the guests that had begun arriving. The sounds of giggling women, tinkling bangles, and the rhythmic beats of *dholaks* filled the space with joyful anticipation.

Inside, Zara was seated on a low wooden stool, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Dressed in a beautiful yellow garara with minimal makeup, she looked every bit the glowing bride-to-be. Her hands adorned with beautiful floral bracelets rested on her lap.

"Zara, I can't believe abhi kuch din pehle hi to mai tumhari school braids theek karti the" Mahim said adjusting the fresh jasmine flowers in Zara's loosely tied braid. The intoxicating fragrance of the flowers was everywhere, symbolizing purity and the sacredness of the upcoming nuptials. Zara blushed, stealing a glance at herself in the mirror. The golden hue of the day, both in decor and in her attire, seemed to have seeped into her skin, making her glow from within.

In the courtyard, Zaviyaar arrived, escorted by his boys. Dressed in a simple yellow kurta. He smiled broadly as he entered, his eyes searching for Zara. Though it was tradition for the bride and groom not to interact much during the *mayoon*, the fleeting glance they exchanged was enough to make the air around them hum with a shared excitement.

A small group of women sat to one side, already busy playing the *dholak*, their rhythmic beats growing louder and more infectious as the crowd grew. Some of the elder women had started humming folk songs, their voices merging with the drums, creating a nostalgic yet festive atmosphere.

Samaira was setting up the traditional haldi platter overflowing with turmeric paste, adorned with rose petals. The paste had been freshly prepared, a symbol of blessing and purification, soon to be applied to the couple.

Ariza eager to join in, carried baskets of flower petals, ready to shower the couple during the rituals.

In the corner of the courtyard, the elders had gathered to offer prayers for the couple's future, their voices low yet steady, blessing the union that was just days away.

With the dholak beats rising and the guests now fully settled, it was time for the ceremony to begin. The courtyard, adorned with vibrant yellow drapes and fragrant flowers, buzzed with excitement as Zara and Zaviyaar, both sat side by side on a beautifully decorated platform.

Their families gathered around, smiles beaming as they prepared to apply the haldi. Elders moved forward, gently applying the turmeric paste to both Zara and Zaviyaar's faces and arms, their touches light yet filled with affection.

The atmosphere was thick with joy and anticipation as laughter echoed through the gathering.

As the elders finished, Shaheer suddenly stood up with a mischievous grin plastered across his face. He scooped up a hefty handful of haldi paste, he moved towards Zaviyaar with determination.

Zaviyaar's eyes widened in playful horror. "Nahi, Shaheer Nahi!" he exclaimed.

"Aise kaise nahi?" Haider chimed in, joining the playful chaos with a smirk.

Just then, Hassan and Shehryar stepped in, laughing as they held back Zaviyaar, making it impossible for him to escape.
"Aaj nahi Zaviyaar bhai" Hassan teased, pulling him closer to the impending haldi attack.

Zaviyaar protested, trying to wriggle free, but it was too late. With a swift motion, Shaheer smeared the haldi across Zaviyaar's cheek, and before he could react, the paste was splattered all over his face.

The crowd erupted in laughter, the playful chaos adding to the joy of the celebration. Zara couldn't help but laugh at the sight of Zaviyaar.

"Bhai to haldi ka dibba lag rahe" Ariza laughed

As the evening unfolded, the courtyard transformed into a lively stage for dance performances.

Haider and Mahim took the center, their infectious energy drawing everyone's attention. With rhythmic footwork and synchronized moves, they kicked off their performance, bringing smiles to all.

Next, Hassan and Shehryar took their turn, showcasing their own unique flair. The boys moved gracefully, looking handsome in their traditional attire as they performed.

The crowd sang along to their lively number, the energy contagious

The audience clapped in rhythm, thoroughly enjoying the lively performance

.In a sweet moment, Shaheer took to the floor with his little sister, Ariza. He twirled her around with gentle ease, their laughter mixing with the music.

She giggled as she followed his lead, her innocence and joy lighting up the crowd.

As the performances continued, the air was filled with warmth and love.

Each dance was a testament to their friendships and the bond they shared, creating a tapestry of cherished memories that would last a lifetime.
