Reader's pov
Once ordering our food, Rindou asked me how old I was. Which to be quite honest was really random.
"16...you?" I asked.
"I'm 18."
"Oh."
He's 18...
It grew quiet again, before our food came out.
I ate my donut, as well as sip on my drink. Rindou had just ordered a coffee.
He watched me eat which was quite weird but I didn't care too much.
"Y/n." He spoke.
I looked up from my food.
"I don't mean to scare you, but I need to tell you." He paused, "My brother. He wants to hurt you. I don't know why he won't just leave it. I need you to know so you'll be safe."
I furrowed my brows. "What?!"
The idea of a 19 year old male trying to jump me caught me off guard, I didn't do anything to them?
"Why?" I asked.
"Honestly, I have no clue. Since he saw you yesterday, what you did, the cockiness you had, it pissed him off I guess..."
I shrugged at his response.
It grew quiet again, I still couldn't wrap my head around the fact he was 18. We waited for what felt like years before another topic of conversation came up.
"Are you currently in a relationship?" He asked, looking into my eyes, his eyes were piercing.
I shook my head, "No...I'm not really good with relationships."
Rindou nodded, "Hm, that's fair you're only young."
As I finished my drink, I checked the time, I had already missed first period. I gathered my belongings, the male across from me had his eyes fixated on my movements.
"Where are you going?" He asked.
"School, I have a detention after school, I have to go to it or the teacher's will be on my ass for the next month." I explained,
Rindou shrugged his shoulders, getting up, his cup in hand, he tucked in his chair with his foot and walked with me out the door. We walked side by side, in quite a calm silence, I observed the beautiful scenery while Rindou kept his eyes locked to the ground. I took in the fresh Autumn breeze, knowing that it wouldn't last for much longer. The crisp orange leaves crunching as I stepped on them brought satisfaction to my ears.
Once arriving at the front gate, I looked over to see Rindou already staring, my brows furrowed.
"You okay?"
He nodded, "Sorry. Will you be okay to go home by yourself?"
I thought about it, "Hm, I need to go meet my mom at work, but I won't be out until 5pm."
Rindou hummed, "I'll meet you here, I'll walk with you to your mom, alright?"
I smiled and bowed before quickly making my way into school.
Once school finished, I eagerly ran out, making my way to the office, waiting for my detention to startt. I was met with Mitsuya and Yuzuha. She wasn't a surprise here.
"Should I risk it and leave?" The strawberry blonde asked.
I chuckled and shrugged, Mitsuya shaking his head, giving a slightly disappointed look. We amde our way to the room, luckily the teacher watching over us let us listen to music and do homework. This made time fly by really quickly. Before I knew it, I was making my way to the cafe I was at a few hours earlier.
I looked around for Rindou, remembering his words, saying he would wait for me here. It was just after 5pm. Maybe I should get his number...I thought to myself.
I heard the familiar voice of the blonde male, "Y/n, sorry I'm late, I got caught up with something."
I smiled, "No worries."
He walked behind me, following me to my mom's office. I had headphones on, listening to music, occasionally I would glance behind, seeing Rindou staring at me, he would look away quickly. What a weirdo.
I began picking up the pace, considering my mom would be finishing work any minute now. I heard Rindou' footsteps get faster too.
Rindou's pov
She sure did have a chokehold on me. Why did she intrigue me so much? Was it her confidence? Her bravery? Her honesty? Everything about her really made me want to protect her, no matter who tried to hurt her.
I trailed behind her, sure it made me look like a pedophile but I didn't care.
She had headphones on, her hair tied in a low ponytail, she looked cute.
She began walking faster, I mimicked her, also picking up my pace.
We arrived in front of a large building, it looked very modernised.
"Thank you Rindou," She bowed her head slightly. I smirked to myself.
"It's alright, please, you don't need to bow."
I saw a middle aged woman who looked similar to y/n walk out, she was dressed fairly nicely.
"y/n? You never told me you had a boyfriend." I assumed it to be y/n's mom.
My face flushed red. y/n shook her head, informing her mom we barely knew each other, how she wouldn't even consider us as friends.
tell me you got friend zoned without even being friends.
a/n: yay another chapter.
