I saw I her in the rightest way
The way her hair shines
Like the gleaming sun in day

She laughed and spun, her head held high,
Beneath the soft and endless sky,
Then stumbled back and hit her head,
But still she laughed.

She coughed and coughed, but didn't mind,
Her joy was pure, so unconfined,
A scene of grace, both wild and clear,
A girl who danced without a fear.

In that moment, I held a light,
Of carefree joy and fleeting flight,
And though she stumbled, she still shone,
A moment mine, yet not my own.

Kiss me on the mouth so near
Love me without fear.

Love me like a sailor
Though storms
Hold me in your arms
In the rough seas of life

When you get a taste,
Tell me who I am for true
Tell me who I am

For I believe you're my saviour
My compass, my guide
The calm in the tide.
