A.N: Thx for the request! Some warnings here is that there is some violence and a small description of injuries, nothing too major. Sorry if there's any spelling mistakes.

Chili Pepper had finally gotten a break from baby sitting those kids, leaving her to have a day to herself so what other way to spend it than stealing. Of course that had to just go wrong, now she was stuck in a one sided gunfight between the group of bandits she had tried stealing treasure from. Her back was pressed against a rock to cover the gun fire, bandanna pulled up in a weak attempt to hide her identity. Her hand clenched around her dagger as she tried thinking of a way out of this situation, it all narrowed down to two choices. She could run but that would mean leaving behind all the treasure she had originally came here for, or she could risk getting extremely injured to try and get the treasure and gold.
Eh, it's not like she hasn't dodged bullets before and what would it say for her name if she happened to just run away from a bunch of low level bandits, surely her bounty would decrease from that action. Sucking in a breath, she dashed out of her cover, swerving and ducking to throw off the shooters. "What's wrong, can't hit me!?" Chili Pepper taunted with a snicker, causing the ginkgoblins to become enraged and their shooting to become more frantic. This just simply made it easier for Chili Pepper to get close to them, landing a harsh kick on one's face and then aiming her dagger at another.
"W-wait! Please don't hurt us! We'll let you go by!" The ginkgoblin wailed, shaking as it covered its face.
"Good, if I catch any of you trying to alert anyone you're dead meat." Chili Pepper spoke maliciously, causing the ginkgoblins to shrink back away from her and nod quickly. She of course didn't trust them to follow that threat so she'd have to steal the treasure quickly, running past them and into the shadows of their hideout, the sound of the ginkgoblins discussing how they wished they joined a different bandit group growing further away. Slowly, her steps became more quiet as her breathing slowed, using boxes and other objects to hide behind when any ginkgoblins would walk by. Things weren't that well guarded, there wasn't even anyone in front of the room where the treasure was being held. Chili Pepper didn't care to find that suspicious.
Quickly, she slipped into the room, being careful to shut the doors slowly so they wouldn't make any sound. "Look at all these coins." She murmured to herself, taking out a bag and then roughly shoving some of the shiny golden coins into it. As much as she wanted to, she knew she couldn't take everything because there wasn't enough space in the bag. She left the coin piles and went straight towards some fancy objects the bandits had stolen. Pearl necklaces, golden cups, diamond jewelry, all of it would sell nicely.
Soon enough her attention was brought to a gold rimmed chest in the center of the room, greed made her hastily approach it with a wide grin. Chili Pepper lifted open the lid only to be left with confusion and then shock when a ginkgoblin's eyes shone through the darkness, a sudden searing pain engulfing her side as the force of the mace that had just hit her knocked the wind from her lungs. She took a few steps back, struggling to get air in before hearing an alarm sound throughout the place, teeth gritting as she made quick glances to the door and the ginkgoblin in the room with her. Her hand was held tightly against her side, the other one gripping onto her dagger as she stumbled backwards. The witches must've wanted to see her suffer.

. . .

"Ow ow! Don't be so harsh with it!" Chili Pepper complained, hissing as Rye was currently stitching up her injuries.
"Well stop movin' around so much! You're lucky I got there when I did!" Rye replied, brows knitted as she reached for some bandages and began to wrap them around the injury on Chili Pepper's arm.
"Oh please, I would've gotten out of there fine with or without you!"
"Say that to all the bullet holes and stab wounds on you!" That made the bandit stop talking, it's not like she could even deny that as much as her pride wanted her to. "What were you even thinking." Rye spoke, this time not shouting, but the anger and worry in her voice was still clearly evident.
"Hey, things would've been alright if that stupid ginkgoblin didn't hit me in the side with a mace!"Chili Pepper said, crossing her arms and ignoring the stinging pain the action brought.
"How did you even get hit." The bounty hunter spoke through gritted teeth, sitting up straight to look Chili Pepper in the eye. "You never get hit." That sentence brought a wave of unease and nervousness to Chili Pepper who loosened her arms.
"Well it may or may not have been hiding in a chest," The bandit began, averting her gaze as she smiled nervously. "That I may have opened thinking I could've found some treasure inside it." Rye simply sighed, shaking her head.
"You've gotta be more careful, I mean ya could've crumbled in there!" She spoke, gently gripping onto Chili Pepper's hand. "I'm sure those kids don't wanna lose you, I know I don't." Her voice came out quietly, all Chili Pepper could do was look away in shame and guilt.
"I, I didn't think it'd end up like that at all." Chili Pepper replied, failing to meet the bounty hunter's eyes. They sat in silence for a bit, Chili Pepper's thoughts racing and Rye let out a gentle sigh.
"Aw, c'mon. Don't make that face." Rye laughed, gently moving her hands to cup the other's face before pressing a kiss to her forehead. "You're not in trouble or anythin'. You're actually lucky that I ain't in the mood to turn you in!" Rye's grin widened slightly when Chili Pepper finally smiled. "Now why don't we go out and get some rye juice, I'm paying."
"Well if you're paying then how can I refuse!" Chili Pepper finally spoke up, a grin coming to her face as she finally met the other's gaze. "I can't pass up the chance of getting something for free."
"Yeah yeah, just promise you'll be more careful. I mean you've got several people that really don't want anything bad happening to you." Rye replied, helping Chili Pepper up and letting her lean against her for support.
"I can't make any promises, but sure." Chili Pepper said the last bit more quietly but it was loud enough for Rye to hear, the bandit's arm wrapping around her shoulder.
"Well then ya better watch out, I may not be as merciful next time." Rye spoke sternly before laughing, patting a hand against Chili Pepper's back. Chili Pepper's smile grew more calm, maybe she would start being more careful, especially for Rye.
"You think they've got any hot sauce?"
"I'm sure they do!"
