Volume 1 Chapter 2: Making Deals?

Marcus leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms. "And what kind of deal do you have in mind? What's in it for me?”

Selena: "My mother deserves justice. And I know exactly who killed her. If I'm gonna die here, I want you to do something for me."

Marcus raises an eyebrow, curious. "And what is it that you want me to do? If you're willing to make a deal with me, it must be something important."

Selena: "My father. He's not as weak as you think. Your most powerful allies are about to betray you. The Franco family are switching sides in this crime war. My father wants to take over the city." She looked like she had more information but was holding it back.

Marcus listened to her intently, his interest piqued by the information she was providing. "Your father is planning to take over the city? And you're certain that the Franco family is going to join him? That's some serious news. I guess that explains why they were missing from our last meeting."

Selena: "I want my father dead. He's the one who killed my mother. He's been mentally torturing me for years. He's the one that put the tracker in my body. I literally can't have any friends. My life is already hell.”

Marcus let out a low whistle. "That's quite the tragic backstory. So, you want revenge on your father for killing your mother, torturing you, and limiting your friendships. And you want me to be part of that revenge. In exchange for what exactly? I assume you have something to offer.”

Selena: "I know exactly where my father and the Franco family meet up. I'll tell you the location and where they keep all their secret stashes. And anything else you want to know. But I want something in return."

Marcus raised an eyebrow again. "That is some valuable information. And I have a pretty good idea of what you want in return. You want me to help you kill your father, and in exchange, you'll give me everything I need to win this war against the Franco family. I guess you think I'm feeling charitable today."

Selena: "You guessed partially right. I want to watch his empire fall. You're gonna be the karma that destroys him. I'll tell you anything you wanna know."

Marcus leaned forward, looking Selena in the eyes. "I like your confidence. And I appreciate your desire for vengeance. So, I accept your deal. But I have one condition. You work for me now. You do what I say, without hesitation or complaint. Can you do that? Or are you too much of a coward?"

Selena: "I was gonna ask to work for you but I didn't want to push my luck." She laughed nervously

Marcus chuckled. "You're smarter than you look. I can appreciate that. But remember, if you betray me, you won't live long enough to regret it. Now, tell me everything you know about your father and the Franco family. Don't leave anything out.”

After several hours of discussing the details of her father's empire and the Franco family's plans, Marcus sat back in his chair, satisfied. "You've given me a lot of useful information. I have to say, I'm impressed. You're a valuable asset to have. But now, I have a few questions for you.”

Selena: "Ask away."

Marcus: "Why is it so important for you to watch your father's empire fall? Revenge is understandable, but there's something else in your eyes. There's more to it than just that. I want to know why you're so invested in this.”
