Y/N’S POV

Everything happened too fast.

One second, we were running through the tunnels, the darkness closing in around us, and the next, we were fighting for our lives. The sound of clashing steel echoed in my ears, but all I could focus on was the cold, calculating eyes of the man who wanted me dead-Matthias.

I stood frozen as the chaos unfolded around me. Alex fought like a warrior, his sword flashing in the dim torchlight, but there were too many of them. Five was everywhere, moving faster than I could track, his dagger slicing through anyone who got too close.

But even with all of that, I knew something was wrong. The plan had failed. We were supposed to escape, but instead, we were trapped. And now Matthias had found us.

He was different from the others-calm collected, like he already knew how this would end. His eyes were locked on me, ignoring everyone else. I could feel the weight of his gaze, like a predator stalking its prey.

I backed away instinctively, my heart hammering in my chest, but there was nowhere to run. The tunnel was too narrow, too dark, and Matthias was too fast. Five had tried to stop him, teleporting in front of me just in time to block a strike, but Matthias barely flinched.

His smile was cold, empty. "You can't hide forever, princess," he said, his voice low and dangerous.

My breath caught in my throat. I wanted to move, to run, to scream, but my legs wouldn't listen. I was frozen, my back pressed against the stone wall as Matthias closed in.

"Y/N!" Alex's voice broke through my fear, and suddenly he was there, standing in front of me, his sword raised between us and Matthias. "You're not touching her."
Matthias didn't even glance at him. His focus was entirely on me, like Alex didn't matter. Like none of us did, except for me

Five appeared again, faster than I could blink, driving his dagger into Matthias side. For a moment, I thought it was over. I thought Five had won. But Matthias barely reacted. He spun around, knocking Five aside like he was nothing, and I watched in horror as Five crashed into the tunnel wall, the sound of the impact making my stomach turn.

He didn't get up.

"Five!" I screamed, my voice raw with panic, but he didn't move.

Matthias turned back to me, a dark smile spreading across his face as he pulled out a smaller blade, gleaming and deadly. He took a step closer, and I felt my heart drop. This was it.

There was nowhere left to run.

"Y/N, move!" Alex shouted, grabbing my arm and pulling me back, his sword swinging toward Matthias in a desperate attempt to keep him away.
But Matthias was too fast. He dodged the strike effortlessly, his eyes still locked on me.

I could hear my heartbeat in my ears, feel the cold sweat on my skin. This wasn't how it was supposed to go. We were supposed to escape. We were supposed to be safe.

But now...

Matthias lunged, and everything slowed down.

I saw the glint of his blade as it arced toward me, too fast to dodge, too fast for Alex to block. My body moved on instinct, twisting away at the last second, but it wasn't enough. I felt the sharp sting of the blade as it grazed my arm, hot pain shooting through me.

I gasped, stumbling back as Matthias advanced again, but Alex stepped in front of me, swinging his sword in a wide arc. "Stay away from her!"

Matthias didn't even flinch. He parried Alex's strike with ease, his eyes narrowing in frustration. This is pointless,'" he growled. "You can't protect her forever."
