Vaidehi walked away from the 12A class.

What happened to her all of a sudden?

Ugh!

We all stood near our class, waiting for the bell to ring for the senior class's break.
The chatter of students filled the air as they spilled out of classrooms, laughter and excitement reverberating off the walls. But my attention was drawn to Vaidehi, who stood apart, her back to us, gazing blankly at the empty assembly hall.

These two cartoons, I will kill them for sure.

They had better watch their backs.

"Padhai wadai karo, ye kya dance wance lagaye ho?" I mumbled to no one in particular, exasperated by the antics of our classmates.

"Hum padhai time padhai karte hai, ye extracurricular activities main aata hai," Dhruv said, his tone playful as he leaned against the wall beside me.

Of course, he had to chime in with his ridiculous comments.

"Yeah, I will say-" he whispered in my ear, leaning closer, clearly enjoying the moment.

"What the-" I turned my face toward him, surprised by the proximity. We were standing too close, and with him being 6'0" and me at 5'4,

"Khamba kai ka," I shot back, stepping away from him and moving toward Vaidehi.

She was perched on the railing of the stairs, her gaze distant, looking sadder than I had ever seen her. The vibrant energy that usually radiated from her was muted today, replaced by an unsettling silence that had settled over her.

I followed her line of sight and saw Aayansh chatting with another girl, their laughter ringing through the hallway like shards of glass cutting through the fragile veil of Vaidehi's composure.

"Ye kon ladki hai?" Dhruv asked from behind, curiosity lacing his voice.

Vaidehi shrugged her shoulders, her eyes still fixed on Aayansh. "I don't know."

"Awww, she's jealous already?" Dhruv teased, nudging me with his elbow.

"Why are you so jealous, Vaidehi?" I asked her, trying to keep the tone light, though I was acutely aware of the tension.

"ye zayda khi khi khi nahi kar rahe iske saath-" vaidehi said

"iska sar phad dungi main, fer kisi brain ke doctor ke pass jake iski surgery karwaungi-" she said, throwing glared at that girl

"Isko brain ke doctor ke pass leke to jaye par iske pas brain hai?" Dhruv joked, in order to make me laugh, but instead we both glared at him.

"V, chill why are you jealous at first place! He's just your brother's bestfriend" ishika said, and I realised she's right.
He's off limits,
He's just my brother's bestfriend
Nothing more than that
