If you take a pen and spin it around, the ink will take a while to get back to the point. If you do it again, the same thing will happen. If you continuously turn the pen over and over, the ink won't have time to reach the point. At some point, if a person does this over a long period of time, there will be a clump of ink that gets stuck, making the pen useless and broken.
The person will throw away the pen then and buy a new one. This time, try to be more careful with it, and see how long it'll last. If someone gets bored with a brand-new pen, they will continue the cycle, over, and over, and over, and over, and over again.
