Vikram's fists clenched at his sides, his jaw tight as he watched Amaira laugh with Arjun. Every chuckle she shared with him felt like a personal slap to his face, each smile cutting through his patience. His body was taut with restrained anger, his mind teetering on the edge of throwing all sense of professionalism out the window.

Without thinking, he took a step forward, his legs moving on their own, intent on getting Amaira's attention—and more importantly, on sending a clear message to Arjun. His eyes blazed with barely concealed rage, each step deliberate and controlled, as though the entire office floor was his battlefield. He wasn't about to let anyone mistake who Amaira truly belonged to.

But just as he was a few feet away from her, his personal assistant, Ananya, stepped into his path.

"Sir," she called, her tone soft but urgent. She quickly closed the distance between them, standing slightly in his way. "You've got a meeting with one of our biggest clients in just ten minutes. You'll need to review the documents in the meeting hall before then to make sure everything is in order. It's crucial." Her voice was gentle but firm, a reminder of his responsibilities.

Vikram's gaze didn't leave Amaira, his body thrumming with anger. He ignored Ananya for a moment, his eyes locked on the way Amaira's hand casually rested on Arjun's desk, her body tilted toward him as they continued to talk. She hadn't noticed Vikram yet, but that didn't matter. She would. He'd make sure of it.

"Sir?" Ananya pressed, sensing his distraction but knowing she had to pull him back to reality. "This meeting is critical for the firm. It's with the Sharma Group—one of our main clients. They're expecting you to go over the final details. If we lose them, it could cost us a lot."

Vikram inhaled sharply, closing his eyes for a brief second, trying to rein in the boiling emotions threatening to take over. He knew she was right. This meeting was important—vital, even—but in that moment, all he could focus on was the burning need to pull Amaira away from that desk, away from that damn smile she was giving Arjun.

But he also knew that losing control now, in front of everyone, wouldn't solve anything. If he made a scene, he'd be playing right into Amaira's hands, letting her know just how much she was getting under his skin. He couldn't afford that—at least not yet.

His eyes flickered to Arjun one last time, a dark, silent warning in his gaze. Touch her, and you'll regret it, his look seemed to say. He didn't need to speak for the message to come across. Arjun shifted uncomfortably under Vikram's stare, clearly feeling the tension in the air, but not daring to meet his eyes fully.

Vikram finally tore his gaze away and turned to Ananya. "Fine," he muttered, his voice low and clipped, though his frustration was evident. "Let's go. But make sure the documents are exactly as I requested. This deal is too important for any mistakes."

Ananya nodded quickly, relieved that she had managed to pull him back to the matter at hand. She led him toward the meeting hall, though Vikram couldn't help but steal one last glance at Amaira over his shoulder. She still hadn't noticed him, or if she had, she was pretending not to care.

You'll pay for this, he thought, his lips curling into a dangerous smirk as he walked away. This game of yours won't end the way you think it will, Amaira.

He may have been called away now, but the next time they were alone, she'd realize just how much she'd pushed him. And he intended to make sure she felt every bit of the frustration she was causing him.

Vikram entered the meeting hall, his mind still clouded with frustration as Ananya handed him the documents to review. His sharp eyes skimmed over the papers, but Amaira's laugh, the way she leaned toward Arjun, was still etched into his brain. He had barely managed to keep himself from storming over to them, and the tension that had coiled tightly in his chest hadn't dissipated.
