Austine's POV
It was a quarter before midnight
I was in the middle of card fight
Down to the last game we held our cards
No one could afford to let down guards
On the corner Jack was shaking head
One of the long nights before his bed
Don Quixote laid his last card first
He was also the first to converse
I got three kings and a pair of nines
If I get lucky, jackpot is mine
Mr.Thompson surrendered his cards
They were just plain pieces just like shards
Then on queue, the last players laid theirs
They both wore smiles and get off their chairs
both of our hands landed on the chips
We were both surprised just like our peeps
all eyes then turned back to the cards laid
on the gold chips, only one hand stayed
they saw four aces with jack of hearts
then a royal flush came off the charts
after my gambling, next was the pub
beers covered the prostitution hub
Aunty Lory welcomed me gladly
As I was the top 1 VIP
As usual, she offered me the best
Of all flowers, she picked the freshest
two souls left through a fancy red car
a journey to my room not that far
just like the usual, I took a bath
while I left her, alone in my flat
after my turn, I threw her towel
I waited patiently to cuddle
aroused with her after bathe fragrance
We went on the deed without romance
pillows and sheets became witnesses
what our souls did beyond the mattress
moans of pleasures without calling names
inhibitions lost, there were no shame
morning arrived, then I saw her face
all I see is an innocence trace
questions struck me but I got no time
I had important meetings at nine
I moved quickly and prepared my stuff
left payment with notes on tabletop
I asked my servants to guide her out
they knew what to do, there was no doubt
meetings went on though they were puzzled
faces in questions but mouths muffled
where was the tyrant boss they had met?
was I fake? did the real one met death?Aeriz POV
On these slums, my childhood had started
I had dreams like wish never granted
Rebellion bloomed when I reached my teens
My parents experienced the worst scenes
With the goal to escape this prison
I quit school and eloped with Gaston
Muscular in built but with no brain
puppy love gave my vision a stain
blurred in vision but willed to go on
chose my heart and ignored all beacons
i thought we rode the fast car they say
in belief we will succeed, I stayed
he engaged in brutal street fighting
and that's what we do for a living
four years had been so fruitful for us
we didn't mind that it wouldn't last
i was able to finish college
costing his body being damaged
on his last fight, his limb was severed
he wasn't able to recover
once hopeful, became pessimistic
their paradise became chaotic
it turned their dream to their worst nightmare
shouts and curses came too much to bear
she thought of saving what they have left
as she owed him so much in her debt
she thought of swallowing her high pride
she went back to her folks, but they died
tears, regrets, sadness all on her face
because of the freedom she chased
she was not able to bid goodbye
to both of her folks, before they die
then it hit her, she was on her own
she was harvesting what she had sown
and then she came back empty handed
they flew too high instantly landed
on what happened it made an impact
changed the way he talks to her and act
from his sweet words and sweet gestures
changed to harmful violent lectures
due to hunger I was forced to work
I changed to be a human New York
became a woman who never slept
his promises to me I still kept
remembered how he endured the hits
those straight punches matched with deadly kicks
it became my turn to endure pain
physically hurt and mind insane
day by day turned into months then years
cursing and yelling just passed my ears
I was torn between love and no choice
I silently cried with muted voice
The love nest we built from rebellion
slowly flew away like dandelion
from sweethearts changed to prostitution
like a prisoner entered prison
dilemma between pain and pleasure
I did a thing beyond measure
I found myself in disguised brothel
which to my eyes looked like prison cell
nervous was I while waiting in vain
calming myself while I drank champagne
for the promise of a big bounty
I stooped so low to make him happy
then drums in my heart were still beating
thoughts of doubts to him I was killing
amidst of my thoughts someone came in
someone whispered he was the kingpin
I quietly followed his set phase
without looking to his pretty face
I told myself this was pure business
all my emotions should be suppressed
we came to his room, he took a bath
I was left there no one I can chat
still half baked I was thinking to quit
I felt like I was the one to cheat
after some time he threw the towel
the scent of him hit me like fuel
I was a machine out of control
I passed the bridge ignoring the toll
all inhibitions were thrown outside
I was swooped in a twirl forced to ride
everything was on autopilot
I lose all of my strength to pivot
we danced together a silent tune
just like couples in the month of June
I regained consciousness the next day
The sun was up but I felt so gray
I got up and prepared to go out
my mind was afloat from north to south
I ate the breakfast pancake he made
and took the money so I get paid
then I was assisted getting out
in my heart doubt had started to sprout
