Rosa's breath caught in her throat. The gun in her hand trembled slightly as the weight of the man's words sank in. Sister? Her mind raced, trying to piece together the implications of what he was saying.
Her mother had never spoken much about her past—about family or where they came from. Rosa had always assumed that part of her life was buried along with the woman who had raised her. But now, standing in her kitchen, facing this stranger who claimed to know her mother, the past she had tried so hard to forget was rushing back, unbidden and unwelcome
"How the fuck am I supposed to believe you?" Rosa asked, her breath struggling to steady
"I'm not telling you for you to believe Rosa" he said
"Don't call me that!" She yelled
"And call you what?" He asked, his head tilting at her "Rhonda?" He chuckled "that's not the name your mother gave me" he said
"Why are you here?" Rosa asked sternly this time, her grip on the weapon tightened again
"For a job" he spoke, Rosa's eyes narrowed, confusion falling on her face
"What?" She asked
"I want you to work for me" Rosa could feel the laughter rising up her throat and if she thought this man was joking she would have laughed
She scoffed "you barge into my apartment claiming to be related to me and suddenly I'll fall at your feet and just do what ever you say?" She chuckled "you have ten seconds for you and your boy band to get out of my apartment" she said through clenched teeth
She studied his features, his dark hair held white strands testimony to his old age, his dark suit clad his skin making him look like a villain straight from a movie, his eyes held a striking resemblance to her mothers, one that she's just seeing.
He nodded, turning to her door, his men turning along with him.
The minute he got to the door he paused turning to her..Rosa not once letting her guard down still kept the gun pointed at him
"When I received your mothers body.." he stated slowly Rosa felt her knees buckling, her breath struggled to steady and she held back the whimpers and ignored the tears that slowly rolled down her cheeks..
Three years she lived her life, pushing the fact that she was the one that put a bullet in her own mother. Only to have it thrown at her face once more
"I knew exactly who did it.." he spoke, her eyes darted to the ground, her hands trembling, her breathing quickened "she told me to find you after she dies" Rosa's eyes shot to his immediately "she knew you would be the one to end her misery" Rosa took a deep breath releasing it from her lips..
Her hands were steadying once more and she barked "get out!"
Without a word he left taking his men with him
Rosa's hands slumped to her sides the gun dropping to the ground, she grabbed the counter holding herself from falling to the ground, she tried to steady her breaths, she tried to hold back the tears she tried to seal her lips from letting out a sound but then she saw it..
She saw the look on her mother's face when the bullet hit her, she heard her mothers last words, she remember as her final breath left her..
And that's when she let it all out, she broke down, her lips letting out cries after cries, tears streamed down her lips as she let the pain resurface and take her as well..

"Rhonda... Rhonda!" Rosa snapped out of her gaze, blinking away the memory of three nights ago, her eyes snapping to the voice "one of these days you're gonna have to stay on earth for more than a few minutes" V spoke, no one actually knows her real name but she made everyone call her that
