I never thought I would see the girl that still haunts my dreams here. In my town. Right here in front of me and looking like a freaking goddess of a woman. I kept things very in the friend zone 6 years ago. She was just a young teen when she left. I became her friend. I became the person she could rely on, but My parents were scared that she was going to ruin my career and she would try to trap me. They were worried something inappropriate would happen so they sent her away and never heard from her since. She was sixteen in foster care.

I had no way of getting in contact. I didn't know what to do and then I got started in my residency and got so focused that sometimes I could go without thinking of her. But she would invade my mind sometimes wondering where she went and if she is okay. I need to know more about what happened to her. I need to speak with her.

"Well I'm headed out. Early morning." Tanner says, he gives each of us guys knuckles. Then gives Chelsea a kiss on the cheek. "Thanks for a good bonfire. Bye guys." I watch Olivia look at him like a sad puppy as he leaves. She has had a crush on him for forever and I think he likes her too, but doesn't want to ruin the friendship maybe. Doesn't want parties like this to be awkward if it doesn't work out.

"Yeah I'm heading out too. I'll see ya later." Reed says. As he passes by August, he stops and squats, "You should come by the ranch sometime, Don't know how ya feel about animals, but I got horses, goats, pigs, chickens, cows and a couple of dogs."

"Yeah, this week?" August looks excited.

He nods his head once. "Anytime." He looks at the group and waves before leaving the group.

"I think someone has a little ole crush." Olivia comes over and stands next to August. I tune myself out, I don't need to hear anymore.

Then Hannah and Garrett head out, then Olivia and then it's just the four of us sitting by the bonfire drinking and having light conversation.

"Well I'm exhausted. I'm gonna head to bed, unless you need me to help with anything." August asks.

"No, we got it. Thanks though." Kennedy says.

"Thanks again for...everything." August says, she stands from her chair nervously.

"Welcome." Chelsea says, giving me a side hug from her chair.

She stares at me before heading towards the pool house and I get up and meet her over there. Chelsea and Kennedy get up to start the clean up.

"Can we talk, please?" I ask.

"Healy, I'm exhausted. I have only been in this town for half a day and so much is happening, my brain hurts. I just need some sleep."

"Understandable. Can I see you tomorrow?" I ask, hopeful.

"Sure."

"Let me get your number." He says bringing out his phone.

"I uh...I don't have a phone. It is on the list of things that I need. What time and where. I'll be there."

"Okay, 8 am at the bakery? It's just a few minute walk on the main street, "

"I'm meeting with Olivia there. I am meeting with her at 9."

"Great. Goodnight. See you tomorrow. "

"Night." She moves into the pool house. I stand there and watch her. My life just turned upside down and I don't know how to handle it.
