Battle Scars (Klayley)

Chapter Three!

After Rebekah had caused Matt's truck to swerve off of the road on the bridge that him and Elena were driving on so that they could get back into town so that Elena could meet Stefan, she went to meet Elijah to tell him that their brother was dead, they were obviously devastated but were also a little confused as they thought Klaus had sired every vampire in the Mystic Falls gang. Rebekah didn't know that Stefan went to go rescue Elena as she phoned Stefan telling him what she was planning to do to Elena because Klaus had been killed. When Stefan had arrived at the bridge that he knew they would have to cross to get back into town, he saw that the truck they were in was under water so he decided to dive into the water to rescue her, as he dived into the water he saw the car immediately. He swam towards the car to get Elena out but she asked him to save Matt first. He did just that and as a result died. She was then transported to the morgue after getting pulled out of the water. Everyone had come to visit her to say goodbye to her in their own way. A little while after everyone left and there was no-one in the morgue, there was a loud gasp from where Elena was whilst lying on the cold examination table.

The next day while she was waking up in her bedroom, Elena was a little dazed and confused, as the last place she remembered waking up was in the morgue. As she got a little less dazed/groggy, she just looks around her bedroom from where she was lying on her bed but all she saw was a bright Leigh and all she heard was people who were doing garden work/roadworks going on outside of her bedroom window. When she started to focus less on all the stuff that she could see/hear and focused more on the things in her room. When she had done this she saw that Stefan was sitting on her bed, she didn't realise this before due to her only focusing in everything else. Damon was sitting on a ledge that Elena had under her window, she started breathing erratically and asked Stefan in a terrified voice "Stefan, wh-what happened?"

Stefan looked up from here he was looking at the ground when he heard Elena talk, as he didn't know she had gotten up as he was focusing intently on the ground, then when he looked at her he said to her "Hey, I'm right here. You've been in and out for hours, you were in an accident." After he said that Elena started panicking even more than she had been because she remembered that Matt had been in the truck with her. She looked at Stefan and asked him "Oh my god, Matt is he....?"

Damon decided that it was time to look up from where he was looking down to and to speak up from where he was sitting to then say "Alive?" He gave Stefan a look that started to make Stefan uncomfortable, he then continued speaking by saying "Why don't you ask Stefan........the hero." He sent a snarky smile towards Stefan, who then looked at Elena again to say "Don't worry. Matt is fine, he's just recovering." Elena was confused about the situation as she couldn't remember coming back to her house, she then asked Stefan "Thank you. I thought that I-how did you?" She couldn't even think of the way to ask the question she wanted to properly, Damon cut her off by saying "Save you? He didn't." Stefan then explained to Elena "When Jeremy brought you to the hospital before all this happened, your injuries were worse than anyone knew. Meredith Fell made a choice to help you, she had used Damon's blood to heal you."

When she hears this Elena starts to panic all over again, she could tell that there was something more going on than what she was told as Damon and Stefan weren't saying anything but they kept giving each other looks that were definitely saying stuff. Damon was the one who broke the silence by saying "And when Rebekah caused Matt's truck run off the road, you died with vampire blood in your system Elena." This didn't do much for Elena's emotional state, she then started saying in a panicked voice "Oh my god! Does-does that mean I'm dead? No,no,Nono! That wasn't supposed to happen." As she realised what this actually meant.

There are a few moments of silence where the three of them just look at each other. As Stefan had got up from the bed to stand against a wall when Elena started panicking, he did this because he wanted to give her some space to process all the information that she has been told. He sat on the same space on the bed that he had been before and grabbed onto her hand to comfort her while he told her "Maybe it doesn't have to happen. I've talked to Bonnie, she said she's stronger than ever, there might be something she can do that will help you not have to go through with this." Damon who was growing tired of this whole conversation then said "No, the only thing that's going to help you is for you to feed and complete the transition. There's no way out of this. We all know the drill. You feed or you die, there's no door number three. But whatever happens, it'll be your choice Elena, just like it always is Elena." He sent an annoyed look towards Stefan, then he left the room as he was getting more and more annoyed as this conversation went on, Stefan rolled his eyes at the way Damon was acting, Elena sent Stefan a worried glance towards Stefan to see if he would tell her what was happening between the two but all he did was send her a reassuring smile. Stefan then left the room to phone Bonnie to see if she could help and to see what was going on with Damon.
