Lorena

I could barely catch my breath, we've been running for a while, a long one.

"Are we anywhere near the place you're leading us to? Or are we letting the nonexistent stars guide us to a safe haven?" I whispered absently, I don't mean to be rude, but why would he work at Creator's Dome if he lives that far?

Oh, right, there is no other place to work.

"I do this everyday, get used to it." Miller bellowed, did he expect me to 'get used to' running for what feels like hours without even the slightest bit of complaining? If I know anything about myself, it's that I am not one to not complain.

"Where are we going anyways? I could be getting kidnapped right now so unless you tell me where we're going I'm not moving an inch." I argued, I still wonder why I trusted him, even if I don't know him. I stood right in my place until he finally answered me.

"We're going to a safe haven of sorts, but first we're taking a quick detour." He said that the last part a bit quieter. "So," I paused, "Where is this detour to?". I'm very much hoping for an answer,

"My house, I need to pick up my little sister and one of my friends will meet us there." He hinted.

"Who's that friend of yours? And can we trust him? Or her?" I asked.

"His name is Kai, and yes we can trust him, I think. Anyways, pick up the pace we're almost there." He replied, I'm seriously doubting trusting him.

"How do you know him?" I asked,

"He's one of the guards there, we get paired up most of the time." He explained.

It took about 15 minutes to get to his house, and that tired me out even more.

"Hello? Annabeth? Open the door, it's Chase." He shouted, I heard little footsteps approaching the door.

"Passcode." I heard a little girl from the inside command.

"Waffles and pancakes." Chase sighed, the door opened slowly to find a small girl with a messy braid on the other side, a cheshire smile plastered on her face.

"Hi, I'm Annabeth, and you are?" She asked. "My name's Lorena, but you can call me Rena if you want." I said, she has two dimples on the side of her cheeks, and faint freckles scattered all across her face. It's probably one of the most adorable things I've ever seen, she is adorable.

"Great, nice to meet you, Rena." She greeted, her jade green doe eyes simmering.

I walked inside to find smooth furniture, a television, decorations.

A home.

Despite the unsettling outside.

"You have a lovely home, Annabeth." I told her.

"Oh please, call me Anna." She queried.

Anna and I sat down and talked, she told me all about how life is here, no need to pay anything since she's a child, free food and free television, I giggled

"I can't believe we're going to the burrow! I haven't gone in a while. You'll love it there," She exclaimed, "What's the burrow? Oh, and who's Kai?" I asked, clearly confused. "The burrow is the safe haven, a place where the virus cannot reach, a resistance against the Creators. And Kai is Chase's sort of friend, one of the originals at the burrow." She explained.

Virus?

"Wait, if there's the burrow then why are Chase and Kai still at the hospital?" I asked. "They needed the right time to escape, and what's the hospital? She took a moment to think, "Oh, you mean Creator Dome?" She came to that conclusion, I guessed that I called it the hospital because everyone said we were patients, which suited the name hospital. "What's Kai's last name?" I asked, maybe I knew him. "Redmond." She said bluntly. Redmond, that rang a bell, he was the one who pinched me when I was talking back to Whitmore.
