For the party, Vivienne had chosen the best dress in her closet. She hadn't worn it yet, and it almost looked too fancy. But she committed.
The party was in a damn ballroom for god's sake.
In her hands, she held a stunning, shimmering gown. The dress is a mermaid silhouette, hugging the body from the bust to the knees and flowing out in a dramatic train. It is crafted from iridescent sequins that catch the light, creating a captivating display of color and sparkle.
The bodice is adorned with a delicate halter neckline and a single, strategically placed cutout at the back. The most striking feature is the large, dramatic bow attached at the back.
She decided that this was her dress. After putting it on and struggling for a minute with the zipper, she put on her jewelry. She'd chosen to layer some necklaces, including her angel number plate, a cherub with wings holding a bow and arrow, a gold rose charm, and a round medallion.
She also put on some earrings with large, glossy white bows adorned with sparkling rhinestones. Chains with varying lengths dangle from each bow, elegantly embellished with lustrous pearl-like beads.
She put her hair up in a high ponytail, curling it at the ends. She added a gold headband and white platform heels. She finished her makeup and looked at herself in the mirror.
"This is a game, Vivienne," She spoke to herself, messing with the parts of her hair that framed her face. "And you are going to win. You have been waiting too long, too hard for a love that might never come. But, you can play it, and you can win it."
After making sure she looked as perfect as possible, she left the room she'd been changing in.
She found the place where all of the other girls were waiting and stood by herself until someone came up to her.
