Sometimes, some events that's takes place in one's life can feel like a dream or better still a nightmare. And the fact that you can't change it or do anything about it, but the only thing is to embrace it wholeheartedly and watch how things can be put into place. Sometimes life can come at you with an overwhelming feeling and it's feels like a loop occuring over and over again in a stream of consciousness. A state one cannot explain but sure its there eating you till there nothing left.

"You are getting married"

I zoned out hearing the shit my aunt say echoing in my mind and ear, vibrating through the narrow walls of my ear and hitting my ear drum hard.

She said, I'm sure I didn't hear wrong. No I did, or maybe the earphones are starting to affect me.

It all sounded surreal to me like I was in a dream, but this time a nightmare, where I'm the pathetic victim.

Upon her announcement, I started to laugh my lungs out, like this was a joke, which probably is, then I found out that no one was finding this amusing like I did, then I know this is fucking serious.

Fuck

I stood up from my chair and faced my father " this is a sick joke right" I said, but I saw the hurt in my father's eyes. A thought passed me, oh no.

" Do you think we are joking child " my uncle spoke, my father's older brother, possibly the dick of the family, a crude asshole, who gives less shit about his family, the dick had it since ages all he ever cares about is gambling and women. I really pity his wife, she's suffered a lot from the prick.

I really don't care about what they say all I want is to hear from my father.

" Father please" I pleaded, looking deep into his eyes trying to see if I can get to him, understand what is going on cos I'm really confused, the weight of the matter as tough as an igneous rock being thrown on me without consideration.

Seeing my father bit willing to explain the matter at hand to me, I moved towards where my mother sat and knelt down in front of her. " Mom what's happening" I said trying to put the puzzle in place, well to others it is straight and clear, but to me it isn't and even if the words flying out of my aunt was very clear I beg to differ. I wish to be deaf probably mute to add.

" Well you heard your father love, you are getting married" she spoke up, but I could tell my mother is against this all idea of me being married.

I tried to keep it together, so I came up with a better question rather than asking the obvious question to which these sorry arse don't want to answer for I reason I don't know.

" Fine then, why me, and what does it have to do with all of you" all seemed interested in my question, but what caught my attention was the whisper that flew through the air. " Well this marriage my dear, is a deal made by your grandfather, our father" aunt Caroline spoke giving answer to my question but it just made it worst cause I don't still get.

But to make them see that I ain't a dull child, well which I'm not precisely, " elaborate further" I said. Aunt Caroline sat across me folding her legs, that's when I realised that all my dad's siblings left this conversation to be done by their sister.

She point to the older man in the room who about the age of fifty if I may to guess, he is dressed in a well tailored Armani suit fitting his body well, his dark hair neatly cut and his beard neatly shaved, his demeanor screaming power and wealth, even the way his sitted you'd know that's he is catchy. The man looked handsome for his age, I will like to say that he is ageing like fine wine.

" This man's father, here, made a deal with my father that his grandson must marry...." She paused a moment, swallowing a saliva before she spoke again." Well my father's granddaughter" she finally completed it.

My gaze moved from my aunt to the man sitting there again for the second time, I cannot possibly fathom what is going on. This is the first fucking time that my brain don't want to process a goddamn thing, because what the heck.
