Mia woke up to the light shining in her face. Her eyes slightly open then she rolls over putting her face against her pillow. She groans then decides to get up. Once she gets up she changes into her clothes. Mia's mom yells to her "Hurry and get ready to summer camp!". Mia rolls her eyes and packs her duffle bag full of clothes, bathing suits, and a flashlight with batteries. As she zips up her bag her eyes travel to the corner of the room. The book read 'The Mystery of the Mermaid'.
Mia's mom approaches the camp then stops the car "Do you want to walk from here?" Mia lookes at her mom and replies with a shrug. Mia steps out of the car with her bag then looks at her mom "Love you, see you in 8 weeks." then she walks to the main hall of the camp. The ground was grass there was a trail at the end of the camp leading a beach. The buildings of the camp were all made of wood.
Mia looks at all of the cabins and watches the other kids run around. After a few seconds she decides to go check into the camp. Once mia registers and gets to her cabin she decides to go to the beach.
Arriving at the beach Mia sees a weird sort of hidden cave. Slowly Mia approaches the cave to find a silver mermaid necklace with blue jewels on the tail. She picks it up carefully while admiring its beauty. "Should I keep it" Mia thinks to herself then she puts it on and sees it sparkle for a second then it stops.
