Y/n Weasley was a boy very different from the rest of his family. He still branded that iconic red hair, but unlike the rest of his extroverted family he was quite quiet and liked to keep to himself. His family ignored him just as much as he ignored them, there was a certain rift due to the fact he was so different, while the rest of the Weasleys were mildly upset due to their poverty, they were still rather happy, on the other hand Y/n was quite loudly resentful of this.

He thought of his father as a failure and his thoughts weren't left unexpressed. This led to him being distant from his entire family. Their relation was such that he might as well have gone to a wizarding orphanage. The only reason he didn't was because no matter what, no matter how different and opposed their views were. No matter how arrogant and selfish Y/n became, there was one person who he truly believed to be family.

Since birth, Y/n and Ginny Weasley were together, put them in different cots and they would cry all night long. They were always extremely close, Y/n and Ginny did everything together. Ginny was still an immature girl she didn't understand Y/n's views or the rift between everyone and Y/n. So he couldn't leave. He couldn't leave Ginny alone, he cared too much for her, but he also couldn't take her away to the orphanage, he couldn't take her away from the Weasleys.

Molly and Arthur would often spend their nights arguing about Y/n, with each snobby remark, Arthur grew more frustrated, it took all of Molly's efforts to prevent Arthur from outright abusing the boy. Molly herself grew angry at the boy. But to the credit of the Weasleys, they never abandoned Y/n they tried their best to include him. Unfortunately all efforts are in vain when Y/n doesn't even want to be included.

While the parents were able to hide their anger, Y/n's siblings did not. Ron was way too young and immature to do much, Percy was too focused on his studies, but Fred and George they would pull horrid pranks on him.

One morning, 1989.
"Ginny!, Come down for breakfast, and bring Y/n too."
She said in the sweetest voice she could muster. Upstairs, Ginny woke from her mother's voice, her face was burried in Y/n's chest as she smiled, as she remembered how he comforted her after her nightmare last night. She gently shook the taller boy awake. He groaned and was about to shout at the person who awoke him, but as his eyes flickered open raging at the perpetrator, they softened when he saw Ginny.
"Good morning Gin, why did you wake me up."
He groaned in annoyance, She sweetly replied.
"Good morning to you too N/n. Come on Mom's made breakfast it's time to go."
He scoffed, he never enjoyed the breakfasts their mother prepared, but this earned him a playful slap to the back of his head from Ginny. He grunted,
"Ow, what was that for Gin."
Ginny began nagging him,
"Why aren't you grateful, you are always disappointed and sulking. Why can't you see that they try so hard."
He grunted in response and then spoke again,
"Gin you won't understand, we're supposed to be purebloods are ancestors were rich and famous and overachievers, but look at dad, look at us we're barely scraping by, all of them are dragging the Weasley name through the mud."
Ginny was about to rant at him again when their mother yelled loudly,
"Ginerva Molly Weasley and Y/n M/n Weasley, get down here!".
Ginny was terrified, Y/n could care less, but Ginny pulled him downstairs. Y/n looked messy with disheveled red hair sprouting randomly all over his head. Ginny's hair was long and straight and went down to her upper back, it still had strands that were stray due to the recent wake up. Molly hugged Ginny and ruffled her hair,
"Good Morning, Ginny!"
Ginny replied a with a soft smile on her face,
"Morning Mum."
As Y/n walked down the crooked and wobbly steps of the burrow, the scent of old wood made him scoff, but it was replaced by the pleasant aroma of hot tea which spread around the room. Then he saw the plates of pancakes on the dining table. At the table sat his father preparing to go to work, Ron was there looking shabby and dissheveled.Fred, George and Percy and Charlie were still around as it was the summer break. Bill had graduated from Hogwarts 2 years ago, and has been working as a junior curse breaker for Gringotts in Lybia.
