It was the night of December 23rd, Christmas Eve.

The frigid air nipped at your skin, making you regret leaving the warmth of your home, even with a thick jacket on and a scarf almost covering your whole face.

"Why am I even going there?" you grumbled to yourself, stuffing your hands into your pockets.

You didn’t understand why you felt so rushed. Just a few minutes ago, you had been standing beside Chifuyu and the two boys, waiting for Takemichi’s arrival. But for some reason, a gut-churning feeling had prompted you to excuse yourself from Chifuyu, Hanma, and that bastard Kisaki.

"It's not like he's actually going to do it. Unless... huh?"

Your feet stopped as you stared ahead. Takemichi was on the ground, bruises on his face, while Hinata stood beside him before walking away, tears in her eyes. You stood still for a while, letting a few seconds pass before approaching your beaten friend sprawled on the cold ground.

Snowflakes began to fall, creating a somber atmosphere as you heard him sobbing softly as you approach closely. Sighing quietly, you looked down at his pitiful state.

Your voice broke through his cries, "I know you were stupid, but not this stupid." He looked to his side to see you staring down at him disappointedly. He gulped seeing your expression.

"Did you forget our heart-to-heart conversation weeks ago?" Your monotonous voice asked.

"I..I didn't have any other choices."
Takemichi's reluctant voice finally spoke, making you squint your eyes at him. You took a deep breath to calm yourself. This is the reason you ought to never try to counsel someone; they will just disregard your advice and choose their own best interests.

"God..I hope you didn't say anything stupid when you broke up with her." You said. Knowing people, you truly hoped that he didn't because they would come up with the dumbest excuses to end a relationship. And you started to feel hopeful until Takemichi made the awkward confession that he had told Hinata he loved someone else, which made you grimace.

Gritting your teeth, you snarled, "Takemitchi you asshole!" Then, out of mere distaste, you gave him a light kick to the side. "Y'know what? Just fucking fix yourself and go where Chifuyu is. I'll go comfort Hina." Takemichi grimace at your action and watch you start to walk away.

"Tell Chifuyu I won't be able to come back, yeah?" you said after stopping for a moment and then continued. "Just update me what the four of you discussed."

You sped up without waiting for his response, and if you had slowed down a bit more, you might not have been able to get to Hina at that moment.

It was meant to be Christmas Eve tonight, a night of love. And yet, Takemichi had just turned this special night into a heartbreaking memory for both him and Hinata.
