Location:
Keppler 246b
Time:
12 days on Kepler 246b
Status:
All Alive. Energon supplies running low.
"Hmm... 12 days on Kepler seems like a long time," Breakdown commented on the data Soundwave had recorded.
"Considering our dwindling energon supplies, it's clear we've been stranded in this cave for quite a while!" Knockout added, his voice rising. A hint of complaint was evident in his tone. "Ah, how I miss the oil-bath on the Nemesis."
A moment of silence fell among Megatron, Soundwave, Knockout, Breakdown, Barricade, and Astrotrain, who sat on chairs circling a round iron table placed near the mouth of the cave. They were discussing their survival, which might not last much longer if they remained idle.
The rumbling sound of strong winds and thunder grew louder from the cave entrance. Snowflakes began to sneak through the iron gate built at the cave's entrance. Small rocks from the cave's ceiling also gradually fell around the gate.
"Any news from Starscream?" Megatron asked Soundwave, breaking the brief silence.
"Negative."
"Maybe his jet burner died in this storm," Barricade suggested.
"Then froze and went into stasis," Astrotrain added.
Megatron stood up. "In that case, we'll go out."
"But it's still storming outside, Megatron," Knockout objected.
"We don't know when this storm will end. Our efforts to survive will be in vain if we can't even withstand a storm!" Megatron retorted, slamming the table hard enough to silence Knockout's complaint. "Soundwave, Barricade. How is your energon status?"
"Safe."
"Fully charged."
Barricade and Soundwave responded in turn.
"You three, guard this cave."
Megatron entrusted Astrotrain with leading the group staying in the cave. Megatron and his two subordinates didn't exit the cave directly; instead, they took a passage to the left of the cave entrance, leading to a large stable housing seven four-legged creatures larger than the Cybertronians.
Oxyhorses—at least that's what was written on the data pad. Essentially, they were horse-like creatures, one of the planet's inhabitants. Their bodies appeared robust, covered in metal layers of varying colors and patterns. Their tails resembled flames matching their metal colors, though not burning like real fire. Blue branching streams were visible on their bodies, vital for their survival, much like the energon flowing in every Cybertronian. All oxyhorses had a natural internal heating system, making them resilient to extreme weather and capable of warming their riders. The seven captured oxyhorses had already been fitted with saddles for comfortable riding.
Soundwave was the only one capable of calming and adjusting his internal sound wave frequency to match the creatures. This was his way of communicating and understanding them. Then, Shockwave created saddles and iron rods about a cubit long that emitted low-voltage electrical currents, forming a loop around the oxyhorses to control them.
Oxyhorses were the only vehicles they had in extreme weather that prevented them from transforming. The Decepticons were fortunate to have two members compatible with these creatures, allowing them to gather five oxyhorses after successfully observing the creatures' behavior.
