Chapter 1: An Unexpected Encounter
Adamaris was used to her routine, tossing her packed lunch into her tote bag, slipping on her glasses, and heading to the coffee shop followed by the bus to work. The morning was like any other—quietly functional. But on this day, in line for coffee, she accidentally brushed against someone, causing a vibrant sketchbook to tumble to the floor.
"Oh! I'm so sorry!" Amadeus exclaimed, bending down to retrieve his book.
Adamaris, slightly flustered but otherwise expressionless, responded, "It's fine."
As Amadeus gazed at her, his blue eyes radiated emotion—curiosity, kindness, and a hint of mischief. "You sure? Because this is a very healthily chaotic morning for my sketchbook!" He grinned, revealing a smile that could light up the darkest room.
Adamaris wasn't accustomed to such effusiveness. "It's just a sketchbook," she replied, trying to keep the conversation on a factual plane.
"But it's more than that! Each page is a piece of my soul." Amadeus leaned closer, intrigue shining on his face. "What's your soul like?"
Adamaris blinked. "It doesn't have a description."

Chapter 2: Mismatched Perspectives
Intrigued by Adamaris's unyielding demeanor, Amadeus couldn't resist wanting to know her better. Over the following weeks, they ran into each other almost daily. Amadeus was unapologetically expressive, sharing stories of laughter, anger, joy, and heartache as he painted at a nearby beach. Each vibrant color seemed to scream a different emotion—the joy of a sunset, the melancholy of crashing waves—while Adamaris remained a calm anchor amidst his storm.
"Don't you ever feel anything?" Amadeus blurted one afternoon, catching a glance of Adamaris sitting serenely as he painted.
"I do," she replied matter-of-factly, "but not in the way you think. I process information; I analyze emotions, but I can't feel them."
"Your lack of feelings must be... solitary," he pondered, brow furrowed with genuine concern.
"It's just how I am," Adamaris said, though her tone slightly wavered. "I see the world without the emotional lens. I find comfort in clarity."
