As the dust from the obliterated Sokyoku began to settle, Ichigo appeared in a flash step beside Vegeta, his eyes focused and determined. He glanced at the remaining captains and lieutenants, ready to engage.
"I'll handle this, Vegeta," Ichigo said, his voice filled with confidence as he prepared to draw his sword.
But Vegeta, arms crossed and a sharp gaze fixed on Ichigo, interrupted, "No. You take Rukia."
Ichigo blinked in surprise, but before he could argue, Vegeta added, "I didn't come all this way for you to handle everything. Get your sister out of here. I'll take care of the rest."
The weight of Vegeta's words hung in the air. Ichigo knew better than to argue with him—there was no point when Vegeta had made up his mind. Besides, Vegeta had proven himself more than capable of holding his own.
Ichigo nodded, gripping Rukia's arm gently as she stood in shock. "Let's go," he muttered to her, guiding her away.
As Ichigo flash-stepped away with Rukia, Vegeta turned his full attention to the captains and lieutenants watching from above. His smirk returned, and his aura flared. "Alright, who's next? Don't keep me waiting." As Vegeta observed Ichigo flash-stepping away with Rukia, he sensed three lieutenants—Marechiyo Omaeda, Isane Kotetsu, and Chōjirō Tadaoki Sasakibe—rushing to pursue them. With a flash of irritation, Vegeta uncrossed his arms.
"Not on my watch," he muttered.
In an instant, Vegeta vanished from his spot, using his Z-vanish technique to intercept the lieutenants. He appeared directly in their path, stopping them dead in their tracks.
"Where do you think you're going?" Vegeta sneered, his piercing gaze locking onto each of them. The shock was evident on their faces as they hadn't even sensed his approach.
Marechiyo Omaeda, visibly startled but trying to maintain composure, shouted, "Move aside, intruder! We have orders!"
Vegeta's eyes narrowed as his aura flared up. "Orders? You think I'm going to let you get to them?"
Before any of them could react, Vegeta appeared in front of Omaeda in the blink of an eye, slamming a fist into his gut. Omaeda's eyes widened, the wind completely knocked out of him as he crumbled to the ground.
Isane Kotetsu and Chōjirō Sasakibe prepared to attack, but Vegeta's speed was overwhelming. He dodged their movements effortlessly, delivering swift strikes that sent both of them crashing to the ground.
With all three lieutenants incapacitated, Vegeta stood over them, his arms crossed again. "Pathetic," he muttered, not sparing them another glance as he turned to ensure Ichigo and Rukia had made their escape safely. As Vegeta turned to leave, his instincts flared. Without hesitation, he dodged backward, narrowly avoiding a swift kick aimed directly at his head. The force of the kick sent a gust of wind past him, and Vegeta's eyes snapped to the source of the attack.
Standing before him was a fierce-looking woman with short black hair, sharp eyes, and a deadly calm expression. She wore the uniform of a high-ranking Soul Reaper, her stance clearly prepared for battle.
"So, you dodged it," the woman remarked coldly, her eyes narrowing at Vegeta. "Not bad, for an intruder."
Vegeta's lips curled into a smirk, crossing his arms once again as his Saiyan pride surfaced. "Who the hell are you?" he asked, his voice dripping with arrogance.
The woman didn't flinch. "I'm Suì-Fēng, Captain of the 2nd Division and head of the Onmitsukidō. You've caused enough trouble here, and I won't let you go any further."
Vegeta scoffed, his Saiyan blood boiling at the challenge. "Another so-called captain? Don't think you'll be any different than the last one." His power began to surge, the ground beneath him trembling as his aura flared up around him.
Suì-Fēng's eyes remained focused, showing no fear, but Vegeta could sense she wasn't underestimating him. The tension between them grew as the air crackled with energy.
"Let's see if you're faster than your mouth, Captain," Vegeta taunted, ready to engage.
