Two months into filming, everything was running smoothly on set. Prince had slipped effortlessly into the role of Jacob Reed, the cunning and dark antagonist in the film. Each scene drew the crew deeper into the story, and Prince's performance as Jason Steele continued to mesmerize the cast and crew alike.
But off-screen, Prince's mind was elsewhere.
Between filming, late-night script practices, and attending Hollywood events as Jason Steele, Prince had started quietly investigating the real Jason Steele's life. With every new search, he found himself more and more obsessed with the mystery of the actor's missing family—or the absence of anyone who knew him well enough to come forward. It was as if Jason Steele had lived in a vacuum.
Prince had begun his research in the most obvious places—public records, news articles, celebrity interviews. Steele had always been a private person, but that kind of fame usually brought some history to light. Yet, no matter where he looked, there was nothing. No mention of Steele's parents. No trace of siblings. No hints of extended family members who might have kept their distance from the limelight.
It felt impossible that someone as famous as Steele could have left behind no one.
Late one night, after another long day of filming, Prince sat in his trailer with his laptop open, poring over old interviews with Jason Steele. He scrolled through endless videos, hoping to catch some mention of family—anything that might offer a clue. He'd been so consumed by the secrecy surrounding Steele's past that he hadn't noticed how tired he'd become, his eyes heavy from hours of investigation.
His search finally brought him to a blog—an obscure fan page that had been forgotten for years. The author claimed to have been a personal assistant for Steele's early acting days. Most of the blog posts were mundane, recounting moments on set or interactions with fans, but one post stood out: "Jason never talked about his parents, but I remember one day he mentioned something about his mother. He was upset, talking about how she left when he was young. I always thought it was strange because the media never picked up on it."
Prince's heart raced as he read the post. It wasn't much, but it was the first real hint at Steele's family life he had come across. His mother left when he was young? Why had no one ever mentioned this before?
He quickly copied the text into his notes. If Steele's mother had abandoned him, maybe she was still alive. Maybe she was out there, somewhere, and hadn't heard about his death. Or worse—maybe she had heard, and was keeping her distance for a reason.
As Prince leaned back in his chair, he realized something else that had been nagging at him. What if someone else knew the truth? Jason's life had been so carefully curated in the public eye. What if there were others—people from his past—who knew more than they let on?
The next morning, Prince arrived on set, his mind still swirling with thoughts of the blog post. As he stepped into character as Jacob Reed, he knew he had to keep up appearances. No one on set could suspect that he wasn't really Jason Steele.
Filming began for one of the climactic scenes—a tense confrontation between Jacob and Michelle, played by Eliza. In the scene, Michelle is supposed to beg for Jacob's affection, unaware that he's already plotting her demise.
"Action!" called the director, and the scene began.
Eliza delivered her lines with passion, her eyes pleading as she looked up at Prince. "Jacob, don't shut me out," she said, her voice quivering with desperation. "We can make this work. I'd do anything for you."
Prince, in character, leaned forward menacingly, his voice cold. "Michelle, you don't know what you're asking for. You don't know the kind of man I am."
