Third Person POV

Ramona, the empress dowager made her way towards her son's chamber in anger after she was informed about the three dukes' decision to side with Adelaide. Ramona ignored the butler who forbade him from entering and was shocked to see his son on all four, begging the new empress to 'spank' his buttocks.

"Victor?!" The emperor turned his attention to his mother but-

"What have you done to my son?! And what is this smell?! It's-" Ramona realized what it was and immediately covered her nose.

"It's what married couples usually use. I'm sure you're aware of its effect, mother." The new empress smiled as if nothing just happened. Ramona hides her anger well by asking the maids to open the blinds and windows to remove the stench.

The empress got up from the bed and went to grab something to cover her bare body.

"To what I owe this pleasure to see you, mother?" The empress reminded Ramona of Adelaide and how she used to treat her.

"You're turning into that wench day by day. I don't like it. Remember our deal! What is your family doing?! We have lost the three dukes' supporters because of your negligence! How are we supposed to continue ruling this empire without the duke's financial aid?!" The empress tilted her head.

"You mean your luxury spending, right mother?" Ramona is taken aback.

"There's no need to worry about the dukes. They are no longer of any help to us. Adelaide had taken over their estate in the blink of an eye. There is nothing for us to gain from associating with them. Now, we shall focus on the selling of monsters." Ramona was surprised.

"How did you-" the empress smiled.

"Oh please, your action was easy to predict. It wasn't that hard to investigate what you've been doing with the dark magicians and the coven." Ramona felt like the empress was digging deeper into her secrets.

"Alya, you have been busy." Empress Alya chuckled. Ramona turns her attention to her son and wonders if he's in his right mind.

"The dosage you gave him- just what have you been feeding my son?" Empress Alya shrugged her shoulders.

"Who knows. But don't worry, he's not going to die. Don't you worry- I know what I'm doing. And don't give me that look- aren't you been doing the same to your husband all these year? Relax." Ramona control herself from raising her hand against the empress.

"Your father owes me his life. Tell him to do what I asked him to do. And make sure my son is back to his normal self for tonight's banquet. He has to at least show his face in front of our foreign guests." Alya smiled as Ramona exited herself from the emperor's chamber.

Alya sighed in relief before she went to the balcony and asked a woman to get inside.

"That was close. Luckily that woman is as stupid as her son. So, what kind of orders does Adelaide have for me?" The woman smiled.

"Simple, make sure the emperor makes a fool of himself at tonight's banquet. The lady doesn't care how you do it, but as long as tonight's discussion leads to ruin, it should be enough." Alya turned to the emperor who was completely intoxicated by the aphrodisiac and smiled.

"That should be simple enough. Anything else?" The woman smiled.

"I have brought several spies with me. They will soon infiltrate the empire and work as a network of information gathering troupe for the lady. Is there any way for one of the spies to be part of the empress dowager's servant?" Alya thinks for a moment.

"There might be a way but not now. That woman is on high alert. When will the lady commence her operation?" The woman smiled at Alya.

"Soon enough. The lady needs to prepare a few more preparations for the coup. The lady doesn't wish for the people of the empire to be part of the skirmish. If possible, she would like a bloodless coup but we both know that's not the case." Alya hummed.

"And one last reminder, empress Alya—," Alya looked up.

"I quote; please assure the safety of the people and lead them to safety. Let me handle the nobles of Tempest." Alya nodded.

The woman smiled before she jumps off the balcony and disappear like the wind. Alya walks towards the bed and watched as Victor feeling himself, masturbating while imagining things that aren't real.

Alya crossed her hands before scoffing at the sight.

"What a disgusting creature. But this is for the sake of Lady Adelaide. I have to endure this embarrassment for just a little bit longer." Alya raised an eyebrow when she heard the emperor call out for Adelaide's name.

"Oh- so you do miss your ex wife. I thought a mama's boy like you wouldn't think about others but your mother." Alya grabbed a handful of Victor's hair before she slapped him across the face a few times.

"Ugh, to see this man aroused after getting slapped makes me want to kill him even more." Alya clicked her tongue in annoyance before letting go of Victor's hair.

"Jean." A man suddenly appeared in front of Alya.

"Evacuate the unfortunate from the streets and make sure to give them all the necessities. There will be someone from the North that will lead you to their new settlement. But make sure to keep it in discreet manner. We can't alert the authorities. Tell our knights to dressed as peasants and pretend to live there until further orders." Jean nodded before he disappear from sight.

Alya hummed.

"Should we get ready for the banquet now?"

Later that night,

Alya was having trouble controlling herself from laughing as Victor continued to make a fool of himself in front of the foreign ministers. She was told by the emperor's retainer to keep herself from speaking at the banquet and that's exactly what she did. As the emperor continues to ridicule the foreign ministers, the empress enjoys her meals and wines.

Ramona couldn't believe what a fool his son has become.

"Alya, do something about that pathetic son of mine will you?" Alya hummed.

"But I was told by the retainer to keep my mouth shut. I am just an empress in name after all. I am powerless against the emperor and his retainers." Ramona was this close to raise her hand against Alya who pretends to be someone who listens to others.

"Alya, this is getting out of hand! Do something or else!" Ramona warned the empress. Alya sighed before patting Victor's shoulder to stop him from talking.

"I apologize for the emperor's rudeness. He doesn't mean to harm. It's just who he is. After the former empress left his side, the emperor became such  a deranged person." Alya sighed.

"God bless him."

The foreign ministers looked at each other and said they had seen enough of the empire's atrocities. Alya covered her mouth with her hand fan before smiling at the whole situation.

"The empire of Tempest has lost its charm after abdicating the former empress. If Adelaide Hawthrone were still here, the negotiation wouldn't be this difficult. We Akkadians value friendship and respect. But what the current imperial family displayed today has shown that they only see us as nothing but pawns. The negotiations between us are null." Alya watches as the foreign ministers and their retainers leave the banquet hall, leaving Ramona and her husband dumbfounded.

"Victor! Do something!" Ramona shouted at her son. Alya snapped her finger to wake the emperor from his trance. Victor was confused about how he managed to get himself at the hall.

"Victor! What have you done! You blew the only chance we have to get back what is ours! You useless, ungrateful son of a bitch!" The former emperor's voice filled the hall.

"Ramona, we need to talk." The former emperor grabbed a hold of his wife's hand before dragging her out from the hall. Victor, who is rather confused, turned to Alya.

"What happened?" He asked.

"Nothing, really. Absolutely nothing. Be a good boy, will you?" Alya smiled at Victor.

"Okay. If you say so."
