Note: so sorry for the late update. The reason for my absence is because of schoolwork and my mental health, I need to focus on that first before continuing this. Again, sorry, I'll make it up with a sketch fanart at the end of this long chapter.

"Lead the way," I said, trying to mask my anxiety as we began to make our way out of the room.
We made our way out of the room
The flashing red lights cast eerie shadows on the walls. The sirens continued to blare, creating a tense atmosphere that matched the urgency of our situation. As we moved through the dimly lit hallways, I couldn’t shake the feeling of unease. Dr. Bright walked ahead of me, his posture relaxed but alert, as if he was anticipating something—or someone—around every corner.
“Stay close, D-24680. We don’t want you wandering off—unless you have a death wish, of course.” His words were light, but his tone carried a serious edge. He led the way through the dimly lit corridors, the red emergency lights casting eerie shadows on the walls.
As we moved deeper into the facility, I could hear the distant sounds of containment doors slamming shut, and the heavy footfalls of security teams scrambling to handle the breach. The entire place seemed on edge, like a powder keg ready to explode.
"Are we heading to a safe zone?” I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.
Dr. Bright chuckled softly. “Safe? Oh, there’s no such thing as ‘safe’ when SCP-682 and SCP-106 are on the loose. But we’re heading to a more secure area. The Site’s got lockdown protocols for situations like this. Stick with me, and you’ll have a chance of surviving.”
I wasn’t sure how much comfort that gave me, but I had little choice. My mind raced as I followed him, trying to piece together what was happening.
Was this breach connected to my missing memories?
Was this part of the bigger picture?
Or just another unfortunate coincidence?
I followed Dr. Bright closely as we turned down another hallway. His usual playful demeanor was gone, replaced by a focused intensity that unsettled me even more. He knew something—maybe not everything—but something important. I couldn’t shake the feeling that whatever was happening, I was somehow at the center of it.
Suddenly, we heard a loud crash from somewhere up ahead. Dr. Bright’s hand shot out, stopping me in my tracks. He turned his head slightly, listening, eyes narrowed.
“Stay behind me,” he whispered, his voice unusually serious. “It might be one of them.”
My heart pounded in my chest as we cautiously approached the source of the noise.
