Chapter I: Unfortunate Omens
Harry never thought he would be back to this place, he was sure his days back to Hogwarts were long gone. He stood close facing the wall that was the gate between the muggle world and Station 9 ¾. Now that Harry is conscious that this will be his last time inside the Hogwarts Express, he has prepared mentally to enjoy it as much as he can; relish the moment. He already planned a bunch of things in his head: he was going to buy all the goodies from the candy cart, Bettie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, Drooble's Best Blowing Gum, Chocolate Frogs, Pumpkin Pasties, Cauldron Cakes, EVERYTHING. Just like the first time he was inside this so special train. He was also going to try and find an empty cabin just for him and Ginny, now that Luna and Neville are together they would probably do the same, and since Ron and Hermione are prefects, they are busy doing rounds inside the train. And he really needed time alone with her before they arrive to the school.
Since all the commotion about Voldemord being dead and the Ministry putting itself together again he has been staying at The Burrow. Even though more closer to Ginny he couldn't be, he couldn't find time alone with her because everybody was over Harry about his last year's journey. Now that the Dark Lord was defeated there was no use on keeping the secrets about the Horocruxes and about his quest finding them, at least to the Order of Phoenix. So he was either surrounded with questions or he was doing house chores and helping on the Hogsmade reestablishment.
This was his opportunity to talk with Ginny about the possible ambush of attention and him not wanting that to affect their relationship.
He stares down at his new black combat boots that Bill and Fleur sent him as a birth day gift. Probably it was more of Fleur's doing since she had been trying to make him some kind of fashion ginea pig. She hated every time he was in a photo wearing a normal pair of jeans and sometimes unwatched t-shirt. So now he's been dressing more couture as in tight ripped jeans which made it very uncomfortable for his nuts; combats boots, which he actually liked since it made him feel like a badass; and finally to keep it simple enough for muggles, a white V-neck t-shirt; more suitable for a 'famous hero' like him. He hated the attention but he loved the change of image. It felt like the first step to a new phase in his life.
That is what he's been meaning to tell Ginny. Things are going to change and he hopes that she doesn't feel uncomfortable about it all. He loves her with all his heart, but this change is inevitable. She's been worried about being parted from him because of the batches. She was so excited to be in the same year as him, only until the Hogwarts card arrived saying that at the Sorting dinner they will know which batch the will belong to.
"Batch?" Ginny asked when they all read their letters at the dinner table back at The Burrow. Mr. Weasly arrives to the room with an answer for Ginny.
"I heard at the Ministry that since there going to be much more students in the seventh year than normal, they will have to divide class schedules into two large groups; morning groups and afternoon groups for each class." he said taking a seat at the dinner table where a large plate of eggs was waiting for him.
Ginny still had a doubtful expression. "I still don't understand..." she finally said after trying to put together the words her father just said.
Hermione turned to Ginny after giving a worried look at Ron and Harry and said: "If before, one class, for example, herbology, had five lectures a day, now there's going to be ten; resulting five lectures at day and five lectures at night."
"Does that mean we might not be at the same lectures?" she gasped as soon as she understood thanks to Hermione.
"It might happen." said Harry not giving it too much thought while eating his breakfast next to Mr. Weasley. "But Ginny, don't worry about it, we are five people. We are bound to be at least with one of us in our lectures."
