Amy seemed more joyful when the detectives let her go from the suspect list. She was planning to not tell anyone about that she murdered Sonic. She was planning to blame it on Shadow, Sonic's sworn enemy. Shadow would obviously refuse to say it was he who killed Sonic but it would look like Shadow was lying.
The detectives carried on with the case and came to a point where they asked Espio the chameleon and they chose to pick one suspect and spy on them. The suspect they chose was Shadow the hedgehog. As they observed his life cycle, they realised it was not Shadow who had killed Sonic. They had blamed the wrong person. The detectives apologised to Shadow for blaming him but Shadow rejected the apology. The very next day, Tails and Barry decided to follow Espio all around his day.
As the hours passed, the only thing they found out from Espio was that he was with the TEAM CHAOTIX at the time when Sonic was killed. The detectives agreed that it was not Shadow or Espio. Who else would have killed Sonic?
