Larissa's pov:my fingers shook as I flipped over the homemade banana pancakes, the fumes of the delicious fruit filling my nostrils along with the entire kitchen.
with the pan a little burnt I let a sigh escape my lips, feeling annoyed that I couldn't do anything right recently. my stomach growled intensely at the sight of the morning buffet I'd prepared - two glass plates on our usual wooden board with the exception of the one smaller plastic plate already placed down on the kitchen island.
in front of me all that was heard was the constant sound of chomping, Elle propped up on the kitchen stools stuffing her face with her own chocolate chip serving.
"eat your banana please" with one deep glare she shuffled under my eye, swallowing her last bite of pancake but squirming as she prodded the slices of yellow fruit.
her eyebrows knotted, pushing her plate side to side on the counter. "Elle I mean it." with my stern voice, my daughter looked at me, her cheeks puffy whilst she chose to rather inhale the chunks of banana.
once she was done a small smile played it's way onto her face, all red from how fast she'd gobbled up the breakfast I'd took ages preparing. i wasn't a good cook at all, most things ending in a disaster, but todays outcome wasn't as bad. With the exception of a few crispy edges.
"when can we wake mommy up?" on her feet, Elle sauntered over to where I was on the other side of the island by the sink, pulling up her arms to the sky with her empty plate so I could take it off her. "i wanna give her my card." her gentle smile warmed my heart, her eyes as blue as my own.
I placed her plate down in the sink before drying my hands on my tshirt and picking her up in my arms. as i held her new Bluey pyjamas in my grasp i still couldn't believe i had my family the way i did, a daughter I never thought I'd even get the chance of loving.
"how about we wake her up now hm?" her eyes lit up, rosey with excitement. "what do we do when we wake her?" I asked, raising an inquisitive brow.
"give her BIG kisses." she giggled as i tickled her side, her incredibly infectious laugh making me let out a chuckle myself.
balancing her on my hip had always been easy due to my larger figure, her weight not even putting a dent in my hip structure whilst i carried her around the kitchen and towards the stairs.
with each step i could see on her face just how excited she was to show y/n her card she'd made this morning, the crack of dawn being the peak of her excitement.
i set her feet down on the hallway, her bare skin touching the cold hardwood as she winced, a small giggle playing its way off my tongue.
"go get your card from your room, ill wait right here." i half whispered, pointing my finger up towards my lips in a silencing motion as i watched my daughter scurry off into her door.
as i stood waiting between both rooms my eyes flickered to the ceiling, deep breaths securing my reality with a single lasting sigh.
almost right away Elle broke me from my silence, her hands gripping my leg whilst she gripped onto her handmade card.
her cheeks went red, her eyes beaming towards her parents bedroom door. one she knew she could always run into in the middle of the night. "now?" her question was so innocent, her happiness radiating.
nodding back in her direction she squealed, pushing into our cracked doorframe with a gentle push. heart melting immediately i saw her, sprawled out ever so delicately among the off-white bedsheets in her usual deep sleep.
her sleeping state looked forever precious, her lips slightly parted as she snored ever so delicately.
Elle climbed onto the bed, myself walking to the side of our queen sized mattress before our daughter sprawled on my wife in a flash, frightening y/n half to death.
