ANDREA'S POV

Thursday has come, Sophie and I are in the hospital. We are done with all the check-ups, we are just waiting for the doctor.
Sophie excused herself earlier to go to the bathroom, leaving me in the waiting area.
I'm scrolling on my phone when I suddenly hear a voice.

       "If it isn't Andrea herself".

Dread washes all over my face as I look up to see the last person I would want to see.

     "Beatrice"

Beatrice Brittlestone, second child of the Brittlestones. Black haired, brown eyed she devil. Next in line to inherit her mother's prestigious makeup company, which she is currently the face of.

Yes, she is an absolute beauty; epitome of beauty, money.....she's also Raymond's sister.

She was and still is my biggest hater. She has never liked me, mostly because I was 'seeing' her brother. But I personally think that's not the only reason she hates me, I think she just genuinely doesn't like me.

Every time she came to Raymond's company, she'll always pick fights, throws insults and makes it very clear that she does not like me.

I've always cowered in front of her, I always feel so small whenever sh was there and I was sure she enjoyed it.

"How have you been?" Her voice coming out more high pitched than I remember.

     "I'm fine"

"Are you sure? I mean I expected you to be downcast now that big brother's WIFE is back".

I see how she trying to rile me up by calling that bitch his wife....and I won't lie it's working.

"I'm aware of her return. Raymond and I have broken things up due to our differences".

"Pssshh differences my ass. He broke up with you because he realized the trash that you are". She snickers as if she just heard the happiest news.

I just look at her with clenched teeth.

"He saw how worthless you are, and now that sister in law has returned, he has seen how much he truly loves her".

I suddenly feel so calm. Something about what she just said made her sound so dumb.

"I mean look at how cute big brother and sister in law looks, you would never look so good with big brother".

She's.....so immature. Is this how she has always been? This is who I've been feeling inferior to.

Looking at how she's fan-girling over Lyla, I realize that although she's rich, she's still young, naive .....and stupid. After all she's still twenty one.

I look at her with resolve in my eyes. She flinches a little bit and I smile.

"What are you smiling at you?!!" She seems panicked.

"I don't have time to have meaningless discussions with you, Beatrice. I'm a busy lady". I turn away from her.

I've been wasting my energy on such a child.

Sophie reappears and we walk towards the doctor's office. I look back at Beatrice and see she's still standing there staring at me.

    'waste of time'.

____________________________

It's Friday !!!! Which means it's payday!!! Finally I can get my pay so I can get a place and do other things.

I'm not the only one who seems to be excited about today. The entire office seems to be in a good enthusiastic mood. Everyone waiting for their pay.

Usually, everyone gets paid via electronic. Raymond usually paid me in cash, calling me into his office at the end of the day to take the envelope then do other things.....

So it's that time of the day, I've been standing in his office for ten minutes in silence. He hasn't said anything, just looking at his phone.

    I gently clear my throat.

"Mr Brittlestone, it's my closing time, I haven't received my paycheck yet and I've been standing here for ten minutes".

He finally looks up with his cold calculating eyes. He sighs and pulls out an envelope. He drops it on his table and stare at me.

Why is the air in here so tense? Why do I feel like something is going to happen?

I walk over to take the envelope. As I stretch out my hand, he grabs it and doesn't let go.

    "Ummm...Mr Brittlestone..can you-?"

"Why were you at the hospital yesterday?" His voice sounds intimidating.

My face scrounges up in irritation.

"That is no concern of yours, sir".

His jaw clenches and his eyes darken.

"Since when did you become this daring, Andy? Where is that timid, obedient one?".

I feel my patience level waning and my anger level rising.

"She left when she realized how much of a self centered person the man she was supposedly seeing was....still is, sir". I say through  clenched teeth.

He flinches and loosens his grip. I use the opportunity to slip through and grab the envelope.

I stare at him with hatred in my eyes and he stares back with a weird expression, like he's look at a stranger intruding his office.

I turn to leave but he voices out.

"There will be an event happening next week Wednesday, a gathering. Put it into my schedule and prepare because you're coming with me".

"Yes sir" I say the walk out and slam the door.

I swear this man is fucking bipolar. What is his business with me? Does he not have a single ounce of self respect? He dares call me Andy!!

I want to hit him so bad. I want to quit this job I can't do this anymore!! Why is this so hard?!!

What is going through his head? Does he gain pleasure in toying with me?!!

I feel the hot streams of tears flowing down my face.

I find my phone and dial Charlie's number.

    "Andy? Wh-"

"I can't do this anymore!!! I can't fucking do this anymore Charlie!!"

"Shhhh it's okay Andy..calm down. I'm coming to get you just breath for me, okay?"

    "Okay okay...okay".

I feel myself calm down abit and I sit on a bench waiting for him to come get me.
