"Is that everything Lieutenant?" Tari zipped up the suitcase, hearing Meggy giggle from her common nickname Tari always called her, even if they're alone. "You just love that title hm~?"
"Of course! Plus I'm still getting used to calling you "Meggy"..heh.."
"After a year of being together?"
"Listen it's a habit-"
"I know"
Meggy kissed her cheek. "But yeah, that's everything. Thank you" Meggy rolled the suitcase away, walking out the front door to put it in her car. "Anything you need? Like your medicine? The lollipops?" Tari looked around as she followed Meggy, making sure she got everything she needed. Meggy grabbed a lollipop from her bag and unwrapped it, and put it in her mouth, it was her way of breaking the habit of smoking, so far she is 7 months clean. "All packed and ready to go!" Tari smiled in relief, "are you sure you're going to be alright? All by yourself?" Meggy gently held her hands, watching the synthetic draw back, revealing the plain white base of her android hands.
"I'll be alright! You need this, plus, I'll call you every day before bed. Does that sound good?"
"Yeah... yeah that sounds great, thanks Bluejay" Meggy kissed her lips before getting into the car. "But if I don't hear back, I'm coming home!"
"Okay okay! I LOVE YOU!"
"I LOVE YOU TOO! DONT BURN DOWN MY HOUSE!!"

     Tari walked around the house, making sure she did chores and spoil Loaf, their pain in the ass cat, but they both love him (and we stan Loaf). She soon sat down on the couch, "...what to do... what to do..." Tari mumbled, "maybe I can watch a new tv show, need something to watch for a week, and maybe I can hang out with the MD-5... actually maybe I can invite them over tonight for a movie night, it will be nice to see them." Tari thought out loud,

     As it got dark, Tari sent out a text to the MD-5 group chat, smiling happily as she set up the tv and some board games, humming a soft tune til she heard a knock on the door. "Huh.. one of them must have been close by..." Tari walked over, opening it, but instead of it being any of the her friends, it was a little boy, he was sobbing, and he looked frightened. "Hey- hey..! Are you okay..? Where are your parents?" the kid ran into the house, hiding under the table. "PLEASE MA'AM! DONT LET THEM FIND ME! PLEASE!" he begged, his green hair was a mess, and his clothing looked dirty from the mud and dirt outside. Tari grew concerned, gently kneeling down by the table. "Hey hey.. it's okay.. no one can hurt you.. not while I'm here.. I promise..." her tone was soft and kind, she didn't want the kid to view her as a threat. The kid sniffled and peaked his head out, his eyes were a bright innocent blue. "You promise..?"
"I promise, and I never break promises.." she held her hand out, but the kid ran into her arms, hugging her tightly as he cried, "shhh... shhh... you're okay... you're safe..."
"Please you gotta help me.. m-my friend.. My friend-! Lucinia-! She got taken! I-I don't know where she is!! A-And I'm being hunted-! And I-I don't know where to go!!" He sobbed, clinging to the android tightly. "Everything will be okay..! Just relax.. I-I'll help you.. have you tried to report this to the authorities...?"
"They didn't believe me!!"
"Okay okay.. breathe... okay..? 5 seconds in.. 4 seconds out.."
As the child calm down, Tari was trying to scan his face, wanting to see if she could get a ID of him. But nothing came up, "What's your name..?"
"T-Theo..."
"Okay Theo.. my name is Tari... I'm.. I'm gonna help you—" suddenly, gunshots sounded as the windows broke, Tari flipping up the table and Loaf running to hide under the couch.
"COME ON OUT LIEUTENANT! OR WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE CALLED "MR800?!""
A psychotic voice called out, Tari's mechanical arm shifted to a gun as she shot back. Ducking down and picking up Theo. "Okay Theo, Keep your eyes closed and don't open them til I say so!"
"O-okay-!" Theo held onto her tightly as he shut his eyes close tight. Tari took a breath, and focused, her eyes glowing a bright blue as she scanned for a easy way out.

The Back Door.

She quickly rushed to the back door, shots firing as the bullets zipped past her as she got out,
"DAMNIT!!" The woman screeched, throwing down her weapon as she growled in anger. "No matter... This will get handled.. I'll make that stupid android pay... GO GET HER!" she shouted at an android, she nodded, and went after her.

"TARI! GET IN!" The car pulled up quickly, Lamar opened the door quickly, Tari and Theo rushed in, and the car zoomed off. "We need to get out of here!"
"HOLD UP WHOS THE KID?!"
"HIS NAME IS THEO, NOW LETS GO-!" a sudden gunshot sounded, and some cotton spilled out of a body pillow. "NOVA-CHAN NOOOOOOOO-"
"LAMAR! EYES IN THE ROAD!!!" Tari shouted.

Tari looked behind her, seeing a purple haired woman coming out of the roof of the car. Tari's eyes widen slightly as something flickered in her mind, she winced in pain. "DUCK!" Theo pulled Tari's head down as a bullet shot through the seat head. "HANG ON!" Lamar made a sharp turn, turning into traffic as they dodged the cars.
"Are they still on us?!" Lamar yelled, "Tari? Tari?!" Tari was breathing heavily, gripping onto her head as her eyes flickered from purple to blue as her head ached. "Hang on there! We're almost to the hideout! We seem to have lost them!"

"You guys were chased?!" Sofia grew concerned, putting a blanket on the scared kid. "This is bad.. were you Guys followed?"
"No no! I made sure, with the lost of Nova-Chan"
"No one cares for your stupid body pillow!" Sofia shouted, she looked over at Tari, she was still breathing heavily as she held her head. "Tari..? Tari are you okay?"
"No. That wasn't- that wasn't a bounty hunter or a murderer."
"What was it?"
"I-I don't know! I-I.. things are flickering!"
"Tari breathe..."
Theo gently held Tari's hand, worried. Tari's eyes stopped flickering, going back to their normal purple color as she slowed down her breathing. "Okay.. I'm okay..."
"What did you see..?"
"I... I think I saw... moments of.. being created.. I-I don't know.. but there was another thing there.. I-I..." Tari stuttered. "Get some rest.. you guys been through enough stress as it is.."

Tari laid on the bed, sighing as she looked up at the glowing stars on the ceiling. Her phone buzzed as a soft tune played, she picked it up.
"Hey! Tari! Doing our daily check up! How's everything?"
Tari was about to explain but she stopped herself. She didn't want- She didn't want to see Meggy drop infront of her, like she did a year ago.

"Things are fine..! It's been quiet but.. calm.. how are things?"
"I met a retired policeman, Mr... what's his name.. I don't remember, but this place is very nice! I'm staying at a hotel and tomorrow I'm planning to explore the town a bit more."
"That's great..! I'm glad you're having fun..! I miss you.. did you take your medicine?"
"Oh- yeah almost forgot-! Well I gotta go, I love you Tari!!!"
"I love you too!"
"Bye!" She hanged up.
