Gwen sprang out of bed with a burst of energy, her face lit up like the sun. "Today's the day!" she practically sang, twirling around the cabin as she got ready. "Luke is coming! Can you believe it?"

Sage, still groggy and only halfway awake, blinked at her friend from her bunk. "We know, Gwen. You only mentioned it a hundred times last night," she said with a tired smile.

Asher, leaning against the doorframe, raised an eyebrow, watching Gwen bounce around. "You might want to save some of that energy for when he actually gets here. Just saying."

But Gwen was too far gone in her excitement to slow down. "I can't help it! It's Luke! It feels like forever since we've seen him!"

The rest of the group began to trickle out of their cabins, drawn by Gwen's infectious energy. Zuri, Jorge, Ravi, Griff, April, Xander, Lou, and Emma gathered around, watching as Gwen practically skipped across the campgrounds.

Zuri crossed her arms, a smirk playing on her lips. "I don't think I've ever seen someone this excited before eight in the morning. It's... impressive."

Jorge leaned over to Ravi and whispered, "Should we be concerned? This feels... excessive."

Ravi chuckled, shaking his head. "Let her have her moment. We all know she's the human embodiment of sunshine anyway."

Griff couldn't help but throw in his own brand of sarcasm. "Is it just me, or do we need sunglasses to handle the level of brightness coming off Gwen right now?"

Lou and Emma exchanged a knowing glance, both smiling at their friend's enthusiasm. Lou nudged Emma. "She's like a puppy on caffeine."

Emma laughed. "Right? But it's kind of nice. A little extra sunshine never hurt anyone."

Xander shrugged, leaning against a nearby tree. "Yeah, well, if she keeps bouncing like that, she's going to wear herself out before Luke even shows up."

April grinned and called out to Gwen. "Hey, maybe you should pace yourself! Luke's not arriving for a few hours. You don't want to pass out from excitement before he even gets here."

Gwen stopped mid-twirl, looking at her friends with a huge grin plastered on her face. "Oh, please! I have enough excitement for days. I'm not slowing down!" She laughed, practically glowing with joy.

The group couldn't help but smile at her unbridled happiness, even if their reactions were laced with teasing.

Hours later, Gwen was still buzzing with excitement, practically bouncing on her toes as she glanced down the road for what felt like the hundredth time. "He's going to be here any minute!" she squealed, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.

Ravi and Emma exchanged a glance. They had been watching Gwen's energy ramp up all day, and while they were happy for her, they also knew she needed something to focus on before she wore herself—and everyone else—out.
