The Bubble Popper

Chapter 7

The door to Sud's home closed with a thud. Only then did he allow the smile he had been holding to flourish. He couldn't believe he was able to walk away from there.

He walked toward his couch and laid down. His mind wandered to the moment Blob went pop. It was the first time he had the chance to clearly see the expression of the other bubble while being popped.

It was beautiful.

The way the light passed through the falling droplets of the burst bubble. What Sud liked the most was knowing he was finally free from the bubble that had been annoying him for a long time.

Many bubbles would secretly thank him for it. Who knew how many bubbles had been tortured by that Blob?

Sud sighted, he did a good thing, but now he had to be careful of the annoying Detective Fizz. What if they wanted to take his treasure away?

Maybe you should pop him? Sud shook his head, trying to keep a clear mind. It wasn't the right time.

Sud removed his shoe and, from the inside, took out his treasure. He sighted, glad to see it was okay. He was glad he had thought fast and stuffed his treasure in his shoe before getting out of the van.

For a moment, while giving his statement in the station, he thought he wouldn't be able to walk away with his treasure. Especially when they decided he needed to leave behind his clothes. Luckily for him, he had hidden the treasure in the bathroom while he was changing his clothes. Then retrieved it after being released.

If they hadn't given him some privacy or if his treasure had been any bigger, he would have been caught. He couldn't allow them to separate him from his treasure.

That evening, Sud tuned in to the local news, as he had been doing for the last few weeks. That evening they were talking about the new popped bubble, Blob, and whether the recent poppings of bubbles were connected. They even called in some "experts."

According to them, the recent poppings were an unnatural event. They urged the community not to be afraid but to be cautious.

The expert invited by the reporter explained, "We have not seen the actual photos from the investigations, but we did analyze the images released by the police. In the first image, you can see a representation of how a bubble pops. A natural pop starts when there is an unbalanced amount of pressure inside and outside the bubble or the outer membrane weakens. The images provided by the police show that there was more pressure accumulated to a side."

Sud frowned as he listened to the discussion. Could it be that someone had discovered something? He thought. It could've just been their speculation. They had no proof. Whatever the case, he had to be extra careful and ready for anything.

"The shape left behind after the pop is affected by the amount of pressure and where the pressure originated from." Continued the expert.

Sud sat thoughtfully as the news ran in the background. How interesting! So the shape of the bubble remains is influenced by where it's popped, so if he pops it from above, would it be an even distribution? Sud shook his head, not wanting to get distracted. Up to that moment, he felt that he had gotten away with the poppings, but now he wasn't so sure. He fiddled with his treasure while he thought of what to do if he was discovered.

He still had things to do and places he wanted to see. Now that he had his treasure, he felt safe and wanted things he never would have dreamed of. Most importantly, he needed to keep his treasure safe. Who knows what they might do to it?

POV Police

"According to the forensic report on Spot, the pattern of the remains is inconsistent with a natural popping. A natural popping releases even energy; combined with the wind that day, the shape should be more evenly distributed. In this case, the remains are spread towards a certain area, leaving this area almost clean." Explained Detective Fizz to Officer Bead as he pointed to a certain place in the image.

"So that means it was not natural?"
Asked Officer Bead.

"Exactly," confirmed Detective Fizz.

"Have we gotten the information on that delivery bubble?"

"We tracked it down. It was Dream Delivery." Answered Officer Bead.

"Wait, isn't this the same one from today's popping?" Belatedly realized the officer.

Detective Fizz placed the file of Blob in front of him.

"Yes. We need to talk to the manager of that company again. Let's go."
