Song Chuyi got up early again. Seeing the increasingly dark circles under her eyes, Nanny Xu couldn't help but scold her with a stern face, "The days are long and the nights are short now. I see other girls sleeping until the hour of Chen. But you, you sleep late and get up early!"

Yet she still took out pearl cream and carefully applied it to her face.

Song Chuyi smiled, "Don't worry, Nanny. Once this busy period is over, I'll sleep in every day, alright? But today, Big Brother is leaving for Qingzhou, and I have some things to discuss with him. I can't sleep anyway, so I might as well get up."

Hearing this, Nanny Xu became even more worried. The First Lady was still unhappy about the eldest young master's departure. If Song Chu Yi went over now, wouldn't she get scolded again?

But she knew that Song Chuyi had her own ideas lately and couldn't be persuaded forcefully. So she dressed her up and, still worried, said, "Miss, you should take Lu Yi and Hong Yu with you."

She really couldn't trust Huangyao's temperament.

Just then, Huangyao came in cheerfully, unable to hide the smile on her face, "Miss, something happened in the East Garden!"

The Changning Marquis Mansion had two gardens: one was the West Garden with a lake between the second and main houses, and the other was the East Garden, where the fifth house lived.

Song Chuyi paused, somewhat surprised, and asked, "What?"

She then remembered that since her rebirth, she hadn't seen the people from the fifth house.

Huangyao's cheeks were flushed, her eyes darting around, almost bouncing with excitement, "I just saw Fifth Miss crying and running to Ningde Courtyard. Curious, I asked Cai Yue, who was chasing after her, and found out that Fifth Lady was causing trouble again! This time it's serious; I heard she even hit Seventh Miss..."

What nonsense!

Song Chuyi glanced at the newly arrived Qing Tao and decisively instructed her, "Qing Tao, go to the First Lady."

Nanny Xu was worried, "Miss, this has nothing to do with you. It's better not to get involved."

They already had enough problems of their own. How could they spare the energy to deal with others' issues? Besides, the Fifth Lady's behavior wasn't new, and even the First Lady didn't dare to intervene too harshly...

Song Chuyi pursed her lips, her eyes sharp as arrows as she looked at Qing Tao.

Qing Tao, pale under her gaze, turned and ran out without hesitation.

The East Garden was already in chaos. When Song Chuyi arrived with Huangyao, she saw the Fifth Lady slapping Song Chu You's face.

Song Chu You, the same age as her, could only helplessly hide behind her maid Qing Ying, her eyes swollen from crying.

Fifth Madam had a methodical way of hitting people. She would slap Qing Ying's head heavily, and if she couldn't hit the head, she would slap the neck, and if she couldn't hit the neck, she would slap the face. Qing Ying was beaten back repeatedly, shrinking and protecting Song Chu You, unable to even cry.

In her previous life, Song Chuyi knew that this Fifth Aunt was difficult to deal with, but she had never really interacted with her, so she had never seen her behave like this. Now, she saw it with her own eyes.

How was this different from a shrew on the street?! Moreover, she was hitting her own biological daughter!

"Enough!"

Before Song Chuyi could speak, she heard a loud shout, and then saw Song Jie rush out from somewhere, immediately standing in front of Song Chu You.

Song Chu You, being young, clung to Song Jie's clothes, crying so hard she couldn't catch her breath.

The Fifth Lady's expression didn't change at all. She pushed Song Jie aside and reached out to grab Song Chu You's face.

"Fifth Aunt!"

Song Chuyi couldn't stand it any longer. She stepped forward and pulled Song Chu You behind her. She used so much force that she almost pulled herself down as well. By this time, Song Jie had already gotten up from the ground. Without checking if Song Chuyi was hurt, he quickly spread his arms to shield his two younger sisters, frowning at Fifth Lady, "Stop going crazy! We... we are also your children!"

By the end, Song Jie's voice was choked with grievance.

"Who wants to give birth to you?!" Fifth Lady looked at him sarcastically, as if looking at a beggar on the street, "Who wants to give birth to you useless things!"

"If they are useless, what are you?" Song Chuyi stepped out from behind Song Jie, looking at Fifth Lady with a cold smile, "What deep hatred do you have to humiliate them like this?!"

Fifth Lady had been making a fuss all morning and only now noticed an unfamiliar girl. She couldn't help but turn to look at the servants behind her.

"My Lady, this is Sixth Miss..." her head maid Tang Yuan quickly reminded.

Huangyao's eyes were bright as she looked at Song Chuyi, whispering to her, "Miss, Miss, Fifth Lady looks so scary. Will she hit us too?"

Fifth Lady looked at her with a complex expression for a long time, then snorted coldly, "So, you are the daughter of that short-lived ghost, Cui Tingting..."

Cui Zhanmei's nickname was Tingting.

Song Chu You had already reached out to hold Song Chuyi's hand, whispering for her to leave, "Sixth Sister, forget it..."

Unlike Song Chuyi and Song Chuning, Song Chu You was truly a seven-year-old girl, timid and innocent, at a loss when scolded by her mother.

Song Chuyi had always been arrogant and domineering, but she had a good heart. In her previous life, she had some pity for this seventh sister.

Huangyao probably saw this and urged her to meddle in the affairs of the fifth house.

Song Jie was so anxious that his face turned pale, and the anger in his eyes surged out, "Mother! How can you... insult Second Aunt like this?"

Fifth Lady's slender fingers pointed at Song Chuyi's forehead, her sarcastic smile growing deeper. She turned to Song Jie and said, "This little girl isn't in a hurry, why are you?"

"Yes, I'm not in a hurry." Song Chuyi brushed away Fifth Lady's hand, staring into her eyes, and said word by word, "I don't take the words of someone like Fifth Lady seriously. Someone who doesn't even care about her own children, I never expected you to speak kindly. Since I didn't expect a dog to spit out ivory, I won't be anxious because of your words."

Fifth Lady Wang, born in Duke Cheng's Mansion, was the legitimate daughter of Duke Cheng. She was raised in the palace by Empress Dowager Rongxian, a noble and of high status.

Unfortunately, Duke Cheng's Mansion was convicted overnight, and the once prosperous place became a hell... Fortunately, Wang Shi was raised in the palace by the Empress Dowager and was spared from punishment. She was eventually married into the Changning Marquis Mansion by Empress Dowager Rongxian.

However, this marriage was not as perfect as the Empress Dowager Rongxian had hoped. Instead of a good match, it became a pair of resentful couples.
