To say she was nervous would be an understatement. She felt like the human embodiment of a waterfall as she stood center stage with a sole spotlight shining down on her. She could feel the sweat make the gray t-shirt she wore under her baggy black hoodie cling to her like a second skin. Her eyes stayed focus on where the shadowed judges table sat on the other side of the orchestra pit.
"Name?" asked a woman in a clipped tone.
Vivian opened her mouth to respond, but immediately froze. She knew what a dunce she really was right then when she came to the sickening realization that she hadn't come up with a male name for herself.
'You colossal dunderhead! You should have thought this through better! You should have...'
"We need your name," came the voice of the middle-aged man seated in the middle seat, jerking her out of her thoughts, "or you can leave the stage."
"Uh...My name is Virgin..."
A smattering of laughter could be heard from the others assembled to audition that were hiding in the darkness of the theater. Vivian had to fight the nausea rising in her, a blush coming to her cheeks as the man asked, "Virgin?"
"I meant Virgil..."
"Virgil," repeated the man with a brief nod of his head, "Alright then. Please proceed with your audition."
'Here goes nothing,' thought Vivian as she nodded her own head before she started to perform.

Are you even surprised at this point? Like seriously? 😂🙈
I had this idea wiggling about in the back of my mind for the last twenty-four hours and just had to post a teaser. I know there are stories like this out there, but I wanted to try writing my own take on it. I hope that you will all like it.
(Also, I'm sorry for the cover. That kind of stuff is definitely not my forte. 😂)
