Wes- "If it is okay with your mom, I would like to see you for Christmas."

Michele- "Uh, Wes, we will be at your mother's house for Christmas."

Wes- "So, I can see them?"

Michele- "Well, they are your kids."

Wes- "Thank you. I'm gonna go pack. I love you girls."

Hope- "We love you too."

Then they hung up. Well, that went well. I still gotta pack for the girls and myself. We are flying back with them tomorrow. "Guys, can you take the girls to the restaurant down the street? I gotta finish packing and if they help their whole closet will be going." I say. They agree, so I get them dressed.

I put sweat pants on all of them with a long-sleeve shirt. Hope's was all pink, Isabella's was all blue and Justice's was all purple. They had on light up sketchers that matched their outfits. I brushed their hair and their coats, scarfs and gloves. It's like 50 degrees outside. I gave them money and they left. I have like an hour and a half to finish packing.

While I was packing my phone started ringing. It was my friend from work. I answered it and put it on speaker.

Me- "Hey, Tara."

Tara- "Hey girl. What are you up to?"

Me- "Packing for the trip to California."

Tara- "Oh, when are you coming back again?"

Me- "January 14th."

Tara- "And when are you leaving?"

Me- "December 16th."

Tara- "That's tomorrow."

Me- "I'm aware."

Tara- "Okay, well, I gotta work. Bye."

Me- "Bye."

I finished packing then everyone walked in the door. The kids ran straight to me. "Mommy guess what?" Hope said. Before I could say anything, Isabella answered. "We brought food." I smiled and thanked them.

-skipping to after dinner-

Justice has been very quite today. I gotta talk to her soon. "Justice, can you come here?" I call from the living room.

"Yes, mommy?" She asked. I patted the spot on the couch next to me. She climbed on the couch next to me.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

She looks at me and says, "Can you tell me bout daddy? Bella say he coming to mamaw's house like us."

I smile and nod. "Your dad is a very good person. He is sweet and kind. He always put you girls first. I loved that most about him. We were friends for a really really longtime before y'all were born." I tell her.

"How long?" She questioned.

"Since we were born." I smiled.

Her jaw dropped. "Whoa, that was a long time ago."

"Are you calling me old?" I asked.

"Maybe." She giggles and I start tickling her. "Okay, you not old, mommy." She says, in between laughs. I stopped tickling her and she caught her breath.

"Mommy, how come you not love daddy no more?" Justice asked, looking up at me.

I don't know how to answer that one. "Baby, sometimes people are just better off with out the other one. Like how Dora had to move to the city from the woods. She had to leave Boots cause he was better in the forest than the city. You get it?" I ask.

She nodded then shook her head. "Kinda. So, you had to leave daddy so you could move here and he didn't wanna leave the woods?" She asked.

I laughed and shook my head. "No, me and your dad weren't happy together anymore. We wanted different things." I explained.

She didn't look confused anymore. "I get it now." She smiles and gives me a hug, which I return. "I love you mommy." She said.

I hugged her tighter. "I love you too, baby."

She fell asleep on my lap so, I carried her to my room. The flight is at noon tomorrow. I hope it goes well. Especially with the girls and Wes.
