Between Dreams and Demands

When the world feels like it's turned its back,
And all your hopes seem lost in the black,
A mother fierce, like a lion's roar,
A father's pride, heavy, hard to ignore.

A brother who's older, yet brings you down,
Disappointment echoes, wears a heavy crown.
You're caught in the middle of dreams not your own,
With paths laid before you, yet feeling alone.

"Be a doctor," says Mom, with ambition so bright,
"Take the reins of the business," Dad claims in the night.
But neither path calls you, they weigh on your soul,
You yearn for a life that feels simple and whole.

Amid family pressure, your choices are steep,
To follow your mother, or inherit the heap.
Each option has merit, yet still, you feel lost,
In a sea of expectations, it's you who pays the cost.

A cousin in waiting, a brother who strays,
The weight of their hopes, it's a tangled maze.
In wealth you are wrapped, yet peace seems so far,
Wishing for calm, like a soft guiding star.

Oh, to live simply, like youth in their prime,
To breathe without worry, to dance out of time.
Dear heart, find your voice, let your spirit unwind,
In the search for your truth, may you peace of mind find.
