Silent Echoes

In the silence of the night, I suffer silently,
A burdened heart, terrified constantly.
Unwanted touch, a glance, a lingering stare and silent pain,
These wounds speak through the silent rain.

Days pass by in silence,
A secret kept, a fact known.
Their words and hands, a theft so vile,
Yet I must mask it with a smile.

Their eyes wander, their hands pry,
A broken soul that wonders why.
The world moves on but doesn’t notice,
My silent scream is never heard.

Alone I carry the burden,
Disgrace, dread, and quite loathing.
Although the storm has passed by me,
Its echoes continue to haunt my nights.

Memories etched into delicate skin,
Ghosts that desire to keep me within.
Though time may pass, I cannot flee,
The shadows of my history.

Every touch, every whisper, every glance,
Injuries heal but scars behind.
I stand abandoned like an empty shell,
With endless pain lingering inside.

I dream of speaking out loud, breaking free,
But fear restrains my voice.
My voice silently remains in me.
Yet somewhere deep within, a spark remains,
Hoping to be released from bondages that will heal one day.
A world in which I am seen and believed,
Where agony is shared and hearts are relieved.

Until then, I contain the nights,
And in the dark, I will find my light.
Strength builds deep within me silently,
A quiet fire that will not hide.
