Vyn walked into Aera's bedroom, his voice soft as he called out, "Aera? Little princess, where are you? It's late—let’s get ready for school." His brows furrowed in confusion when there was no answer. He searched through the house, his concern growing with each empty room. Finally, he sighed and made his way downstairs.

When he reached the kitchen, his tension eased. There was Aera, standing on her tiptoes, carefully making bread toast and grilling bacon. A warm smile spread across his face as he silently watched her.

"Need some help, princess?" he asked as he moved to join her, rolling up his sleeves.

Aera grinned. "Yes, Daddy! I’m almost done with the bacon, but I need help with the veggies."

Together, they finished preparing breakfast. Vyn chopped some cheese and vegetables for the toast while boiling ramen noodles and eggs. Aera poured juice for both of them, and once everything was ready, they settled at the dining table.

As they ate, they shared laughter and light-hearted conversations. Aera animatedly talked about her day at school and her friends, while Vyn shared stories about his office, making her giggle at the antics of his co-workers.

When breakfast was over, they stepped out of the house, hand in hand. As they walked down the path, Vyn's gaze lingered on their home for a moment, a soft smile tugging at his lips. He could almost feel Lyra’s presence, as though she were still with them, her spirit woven into the walls of the house.

He looked at Aera, her joyful energy radiating as she talked about her plans for the day. Vyn smiled, but beneath that, he felt the quiet ache of Lyra’s absence, though he kept it hidden from Aera. She was growing up so quickly, now seven years old, focused and determined, just like her mother. She took care of herself and of him, always keeping the promise she’d made.

As they headed towards school, Vyn couldn’t help but think of Lyra’s last wish—to live on in memories, and she had.

"I really didn’t think she had grown so fast, Luke," Vyn said with a soft smile as they drove together.

"Yeah, kids grow up before you even realize it. Can’t control them forever," Luke replied with a chuckle.

"True." Vyn nodded. "Let’s see how the day goes at the office."

"What about the others?" Luke asked.

"I hope they’ll be there, though Ben-ssi will probably be late," Vyn added with a grin. Both of them burst into laughter, the lightness of the moment echoing in the car.

As the vehicle slowed to a stop, Vyn glanced out the window. They had arrived at the cemetery. With a quiet nod, he stepped out, carrying a bouquet of roses mixed with lavender. He made his way through the tranquil grounds until he reached Lyra’s memorial. Gently placing the flowers in front of her name, he sat beside the gravestone, letting the silence embrace him.

“I miss you,” he whispered, his fingers brushing the cool stone. Despite the passing years, the bond between them remained unbroken, as strong as ever. It made his heart lighter just to be there with her, even if only in spirit.

After spending a few more moments, Vyn rose and headed back to the car. The weight of his grief softened, he returned to work with renewed focus. His thoughts drifted to the project that had just been offered—a major role in a film where he would play the hero. To his surprise, Luke had landed the role of the villain.
