𝓓𝓪𝓻𝓻𝓲𝓪𝓷 woke up to the sound of his alarm on his phone. He quietly got out of David's grip and headed into the bathroom. He quickly brushed his teeth and took a shower. Today was an important day. The Reyes family was having a meeting with the Alveraz Cartel.
𝓓𝓪𝓿𝓲𝓭 stirred awake, he saw Darrian walk out the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist. His quiet nature always made David feel grounded.
"Morning baby," David said rubbing his face
"Morning. Um did you want breakfast?" Darrian asked feeling small from David's intense stare
"Yeah, that'd be great," David replied, his tone casual, yet his eyes were sharp, scanning Darrian as if he could read every thought swirling in his mind.
"Hey, about last night. I didn't mean to yell at you. I was angry and it wasn't the right thing to do," David said getting up and putting his sweats on
Darrian was used to David's outburst, his verbal outburst and sometimes physical aggression but he still stayed because there was a broken man underneath all the violence and anger.
"It's okay," Darrian said lowly
David walked over to Darrian and brought his husband into a tight hug. Darrian could feel the tension slowly fading.
"I love you," David whispered
"I love you too," Darrian replied

Both David and Darrian were in their office looking over paperwork from Alanna. Since both of them had a keen eye for money they always double checked her financial statements.
"Everything looks good to me," Darrian said leaning bank in his chair
"I agree. I can't cuss her this time," David joked
"You never liked her," Darrian said
"You're right. I don't like Alanna because I got a bad feeling bout her ass. But on another topic, you noticed how Kevin's been over a lot lately. At the family dinner he was there," David said
"Well he's kinda like family," Darrian shrugged
"Yeah, I'm just overthinking things," David said
Darrian got up from his seat and went over to David, he sat on his lap and ran his hands through his curly hair. It was a calming experience for both of them.
