June's POV:
4 HOURS. 4 boring hours. I had to endure 4 boring hours of different teachers talking. I'm just glad it's over I guess.
I arranged my papers and pens in my bag neatly, so that it would be easy to find later.
Standing up, I stretched a bit, given that I had been sitting for s long and was most likely sitting with a slightly hunched back. Hearing the pops my back made, I smiled, satisfied.
Glancing at my friend beside me, I saw her struggling for some reason. "You okay there?" I asked and placed a hand on the table.
She searched under the table frantically. In a panicked tone, she answered, "I can't find my necklace!"
I chuckled in response, "It's in my pockets. You told me to hold on to it since the lock broke. And I told you I would fix it when we get home." I informed her, standing straight once again.
"Let's go, we've already wasted three minutes of lunch time. We have a schedule remember?" I said, walking ahead of her. She eventually caught up to me after having calmed down. "That really scared me, you know? Should've told me earlier." Complaining, she pouted.
An amused laugh escaped my lips, "I thought you remembered, then again, you are forgetful."
Faking an offended expression, she placed her hand on her chest. "I am not forgetful!"
"Yeah, alright." I said with a smile, not bothering to even glance at Alizana to know that she had another pout on her lips, judging by the way she huffed, I bet her cheeks are also puffed up.
"No need to keep reminding me." I heard her mutter.
Looking back at the shorter female that is a few steps behind me. I saw her averting my gaze, she still had a pout on her lips.
I suppressed a laugh that was threatening to escape my lips. "You're so childish. Hurry up." She immediately looked at me before speeding up.
"By the way, about the science fair.." Alizana started and looked up at me, which in return, I lowered my head a bit, looking into her dark eyes. Both of us stopping in our tracks.
"They are still looking for volunteers, I was thinking you should join!" Her voice filled with enthusiasm, her eyes sparkled, hoping I'd say yes. "No." I answered coldly and continued walking.
She followed after me, "Why not?" Not bothering to drop the subject. "It's tiring. Also, I don't want to. We're not required to join, correct?"
"Well, no.."
"Then I'm not joining. I already have a lot on my plate, much more than I can chew. I'm not adding more food to it."
Understanding my situation, she didn't bother to push further. "Alright, let's find someone else then. Our school still lacks of volunteers and we need more to find the perfect candidate to represent the whole school." She said as she took out a small notebook and a red pen from her pocket.
"So you're getting crossed out..." Drawing a red line on my name, concluding that I was not entering.
"Do you have anyone in mind, June?"
I glanced at her momentarily before continuing towards the cafeteria, "Who do you have on the list? Let me check if there is anyone I could suggest that is not on the list." She looked at her small notebook.
"Well, we have Prescious, Carlos, Hyujin, Keithleen, Cedric—"
"Yeah?" A deep yet familiar voice said, causing us to flinch at the unexpected listener. "Heard my name, what's it about? If it's the list for students that are the most attractive then I'm grateful."
