Get back on your feet, damnit! Carmen cursed as adrenaline coursed through her body, making it hard to stay still. The fear of something she couldn't see easily able to end her life was horrifying.
"You know, you can breathe just fine without a knee cap," Menudo sneered. "I can walk you out with my arm around your waist."
What would he fire at her next? She could try to counter the hit by hardening a part of her body with Hamon, but without knowing how far the Stand was, she couldn't predict the amount of Hamon she needed.
She slowly lifted her head, her gaze distant due to the pain, but unwavering with pride.
"Do whatever the hell you want to me, but you won't touch my famiglia."
A barreling cooked pea that had just entered her field of vision. She didn't process what had almost killed her, but its trajectory was suddenly interrupted, stopping mere inches from her right knee. She blinked, and squinted her eyes in confusion.
An invisible wall? When-- how did that....?
The sound of a body dropping from a short height behind her prompted her to turn around. To her utter and sheer surprise, she saw Rosalia on her knees in the balcony.
"W-Wait. You stopped that thing with your Stand? How did you--
"Chew this and eat it fast!" Rosalia said as she flung her arm forward. A sweet confection found itself in Carmen's mouth. Rather than question the bizarre move, she instinctively bit down on the piece of chocolate, crushing it until she swallowed it.
At first, nothing happen. But then, she felt a presence behind her. One that was simultaneously belonging to her, and not to her at the same time. She looked to her right, and found a woman-like figure hovering just behind her. Its skin was pink, and it wore a dark-pink evening gown. Strangely, though, its face was featureless with the exception of two diamonds in place of its eyes.
"I-Is that a Stand?" she wondered in awe. "Did that chocolate give me a Stand...?"
"Eyes forward!" Rosalia cried, as a packet of salt came at Carmen like lightning. Regaining focus, Carmen jumped back, an unnecessary move as she saw Prism Deluxe's shield adjust to protect her.
Rosalia helped Carmen up, but was shocked to see the younger girl's damaged hand.
"Dios mio, hermanita... are you okay?"
"My Hamon will fix it in no time," Carmen reassured, as her flesh visibly regenerated. Rosalia's presence had calmed her down sufficiently for her to control her breathing and reactivate her Hamon. "More importantly... where did that bastard go?"
"He ran into the hallway," Rosalia said. "But you'll be able to see his Stand now. You have one."
"You mean..."
Carmen glanced at the pink-skinned figure that hovered behind her.
"It's a long story, but we can't waste time. Let's go."
The two girls dashed out into the hallway, where they found one of the three Heads of Cerberus standing at one end of the hallway.
"Who would've ever thought..." Menudo exclaimed as a figure with a dark blue torso stood just behind him. The bottom half of its face was white, the top half black. The limbs of its left side were pink, while its right side leg and arm were lime green. "...that the top remaining threat to our organization would make her appearance here?"
