Chapter 49 spooky, scary skeletons

Are you kids ready, RJ asked. Ya Dewey said as he his put on spider duck mask on, this is wierd, isn't stealing illegal,Marcus asked.not today,mason said. Today is a day where you are given candy for free.their's a catch isn't there, Marcus said as he rolled his eyes. Well I guess so, Louie said. What is it,Marcus asked. You have to dress up, in a scary costume, Dewey said. You have to do all of that just for free candy, Marcus asked. Well yea, Huey said. I've made a map of all the best houses. Dewey pulled his brother to the side, do you really think it's a good idea to bring them trick or treating with us,Dewey asked. I mean they don't exactly trust everyone they see, Louie said. That is exactly why we need to take them, Huey said. All right fine you win. 

Come on, you two, let's go to the store and get some Costumes. Huey said, ok Isaac,said. I don't understand why we have to dress up, Marcus said, as they started walking towards the store. Because if they don't give us candy we can Trick them, Louie said. That is why we need to hide our Identity. Just like dad used to do when he would go shopping Marcus said. I don't think he was shopping, huey said. Well then what was he doing, Marcus asked. Shoplifting, Louie said.Ok huey said as arrived at the store, here are Waukee Taki's so we don't get separated. The boys took the Walkie talkies and ran into the store. The store was filled with Halloween decorations like skeletons, Spiders Ghosts, and pumpkins,What is that thing dewey said as he walked over to one of the pumpkins, it had a smile carved into it. it was also wearing a witches hat.Huey walked over and read the card that said, "Beware the pumpkin that glows at night, for within its orange shell lies a dark delight. Approach with caution, because of the boy inside."What do you think that means, Dewey asked.

Before Huey could respond, Isaac grabbed the hat off the pumpkin. All of a sudden, the doors magically closed and everyone in the store disappeared.You have awakened me, Jack the Pumpkin King! You will pay for what you have done by doing three trials! What trials Louie asked. All of the Sudan, the five of them were Teleported into a room. Marcus asked, "What is this place? Before anyone can respond, a deep voice echoes, "Welcome to your first trial. In this room of shadows, light is the key. Find the symbols, solve the riddles, and escape... if you can.

What did you get us into? Marcus asked.Huey looked around the room, eventually he found candles and matches sitting on a nearby table, Huey ignored him cousin, and lit the candle, this revealed three symbols of different monsters, on the wall. As the light reflected off the wall a door opened. What is it, Isaac asked. I'll give you a hint, what goes boo, Marcus said scaring his brother. What is actually in the wall a mirror on the floor, Huey said as he walked closer. When he looked at the mirror he saw a message:In darkness, we hide; in light, we speak. To escape, find the word you seek." what does that mean, Louie asked. Look the word light is darker than the others Dewey said. Light that's the answer? Louie said. All of the sudden a door opened. you passed continue by going through the door, if you dare, the pumpkin's voice said. The boys shrugged and walked through the door.

Another room seriously, you couldn't have been more creative, Dewey said in an annoyed voice.all of these special effects are extremely expensive, the pumpkins voice said. Dewey rolled his eyes. You want me to make it more difficult, well here you go the the voice said.all of the sudden an old closet appears in front of them, oh this is just perfect, we are never going to make it out of here now, Huey said. Oh come on it's just an old closet, Dewey said as he quickly walked towards it, and opened the door.

Dewey looked inside and immediately closes it, mum- mummy, Dewey said. Just as he said that, the door opened again. Who dares disturb my rest?" it says in a rasppy voice, as it begins stumbling toward them.as toilet paper begins to unravel. Run, Huey says as it tries to grab him. The boy split up. And ran around the room in circles causing the mummy to get dizzy. Now Dewey says. The five boys grabbed a piece of toilet paper, and run away from the mummy causing the mummy to unwrap."I will return the mummy says before it dies. At least the last door opens.

As the boys step through the doorway, they look around and see the creepiest room yet, it was filled with cobwebs and rats, in the centre of the room there was a large table. At the far end of the table the pumpkin king was sitting on a chair. It is good to see you made it out alive, for your final trill you must answer a simple question, the pumpkin king said. What is the,Huey asked. Who is behind all this, the pumpkin asked. Before the boys could answer. Raven came out from behind the pumpkin. You Dewey said yes it is me. Wait a minute it was a puppet this hole time,Dewey said in shock. You tricked us, Louie said. Yes I believe it is called trick or treat, Raven said. The boys tuned around,As they step through the doorway, the raven's voice calls out one last time, "Beware, boys... you never know when I might return...

That was weird Huey said. As soon as they were on the other side of the doorway the store turned back to normal, Isaac and Marcus bot their costumes and left the store. Let's not tell anyone about this, okay Huey said. The other boys nodded in agreement as they walked out of the store.
