Here's the dystopian story I wrote for English :3 Enjoy!

My legs screamed at me as I ran. Arrows rattled in my quiver. I turned my head to see the others managing to keep up.

"Is the Maiasaurus still there!?" I yelled.
Miles turned around and saw the Maia still rampaging. An Allosaurus suddenly broke through the trees and snapped at the Maia, causing it to switch directions. Miles yelped before turning back around and almost dropped the metal stick he used as a weapon. He quickly caught it.

"Not anymore!"

We all jumped behind a fallen tree. I winced when I heard the Maia squeal and the crunching of bones. I looked around while placing my bow in my lap to see everyone panting like dire wolves. Willow muttered curses as she picked twigs and leaves out of her green braids.

"This is stupid. Why can't we go into the cities? There are no dinos there."

Jason huffed.

"You'd rather live under the Ministry's thumb? Beaten by the DCs? Tracked everywhere we go? You wanna go back to that?"

Everyone went silent. I found the ground highly interesting. I rubbed the 'X' scar on my shoulder, where we removed the tracker. Did I mention that in the cities, we all have trackers implanted in us at a young age? All I remember from it was a bright light and a sore pain in my shoulder.

Miles huffed and hugged his knees to his chest.

"I honestly would rather be running for our lives than tracked everywhere we go."

Willow scoffed.

"What's the difference?"

I picked at the blades of grass, twisting and tearing them. I then decided to speak up.

"Listen, things out here are bad, okay? But in the cities is much worse. You guys remember what it was like. The trackings, the curfews, the DCs. I'm with Miles; I'd rather run from dinos than be tracked everywhere we go."

Everyone looked at me. There were a few seconds of silence before Willow sighed.

"You're right. I don't know what I was saying earlier."

Jason muttered something under his breath. He then peeked over the edge of the tree.

"Coast is clear."

We all then stood up and started trekking through the forest. I shouldered my bow and took the lead, swatting away a bug. Thankfully, it wasn't a big one. Those things gave me the creeps.

I don't know exactly how long we've been walking, but it must have been hours because the sun started to dip down.

Jason then looked up and smiled. He then pointed ahead.

"Hey! Look at that!"

We all looked where he was pointing and saw what made him smile.

It was the ruins of an old city.

We all then ran and looked around at the ruins. The buildings looked like they were made out of red rocks and only a few were still standing. Vegetation had wrapped its vines around the buildings. Miles whistled.

"Man, how old is this place?"

Willow looked around before walking over to a building. She crouched down before calling us over. We all walked over as she pointed to a metal slate on the building.

"It says the year was 1872."

Jason furrowed his brows.

"That's like over three hundred years ago. Why didn't the prehistoric animals destroy this place when they were released?"
