off i go...
You send one last text before the car enters a deadzone.
Pocketing your phone, you stare out the window, and into the tall northwestern forest towering over the road from both sides.
'off I go...
to another boring summer in the middle of butt-fuck nowhere,' you think, before closing your eyes and finally dozing off.'ekl, r gcq wbt... mamiw, riw. W aygi kagm wbt. Y yee nqy gcj bwxvk...'
The car stops, you open your eyes sleepily, open the door, unbuckle your seatbelt, and step out the car slowly. Once finally standing, you dust the crumbs of various snacks off your flannel and stretch. Your joints are stiff, moving them feels good after being stagnant for all this time. Moseying over to the trunk, you grab your bags, and say goodbye to (whichever close family member drives idk you decide).
Thecar drives off, and you stand there, bags in hand, slung over the shoulder, onthe suitcase, etc. as the man of the house comes out to greet you. It's kind ofa blur- whatever he said- you're still waking up, but you (kinda) maintainconversation. Something like:
"oh, well hello there dear Greyson, how have you been?"
"it's grey--" "now, now, now, we better get you inside, and all settled in now, so you can have time to wander and such before dinner- this town is quite different from the last one, yes it is."
Heputs his arm around your back and leads you to the property, making you veryuncomfortable.Walking into the yard was overwhelming in itself, fancy billboard on a fancy fence with a fancy gate leading to a fancy house surrounded by a fancy garden with a fancy cupid statue with... Gideons' head? 'Oh no.
oh
oh noI forgot how rich white people-ey the Gleefuls are'
