I stared at Ash and George in shock.

What's he doing here?

I walked closer to examine Ash.

He isn't doing well.

He had eye bags, and his skin was pale. His black hair was unkempt and clearly hadn't been washed for a while. He was fidgeting a lot and seemed insanely anxious and depressed.

I love you, Ash. Although I've moved on, I still remember the feelings I felt for you. You gave me an escape from him. You were gentle and loving. You tried to save me. In another universe, it worked, and we would be together. Not in this one, though. I love you, but not in a way where I would kiss you again.

"What was his name?" George asked.

"Who?" Ash asked in return.

"Your boyfriend." George stated.

"His name was Clay." Ash said.

George nodded.

"I'm sorry for your loss. I can't even begin to imagine." George said softly.

George is a good friend, even to someone he doesn't even know.

"Nobody believes me. I've been telling them all that it was his boyfriend. His parents don't believe me. The cops don't. They won't even look into him. I know it was him, though. I just have a feeling." Ash explained.

Ash's gut feeling is right.

"I believe you." George spoke up.

"Really?" Ash asked.

George nodded.

I had exchanged phone numbers with Ash before he left. I sighed and locked my door.

"Hello?" I asked.

A sticky note was put on my forehead. I took it off and looked at it.

☆Hi beautiful

I smiled and felt myself blushing.

"Is your name Clay?" I asked.

"Maybe." A whisper said.

I felt the breath hit my neck. I turned around.

"You're scary." I stated.

"Boo." He replied.

I giggled.

"Is your name Clay then?" I asked.

"Yes. It is." He said.

"So you dated the guy who was just here?" I asked.

"Sort of. I loved him, but we never really made things official. We kissed and slept together the same night I died." He explained.

"Do you still love him?" I asked.

"No. Not in the way I did then." He told me.

I nodded.

"Why? Are you jealous?" He asked.

I smiled.

"Maybe a little. I mean, he got to see you at least." I said.

"Well, you have to wait, darling. Patience." He stated.

I blushed at the pet name.

"I told you my name, did I not?" He asked.

"You did." I giggled.

He hummed in response. I felt his cold hands carefully cup my face. It was a weird feeling.
