Facade

It all happened in a haze, the wedding. All she had to do was to keep her head down and sign the paperwork. If she were a regular girl, then she might have given a speech and made vows. Her husband would have given her a passionate kiss and would have held her hands as they danced together, but that sort of behaviour was too inappropriate for a princess.

So instead, she sat quietly as was expected of her and tried to enjoy the various performers at the feast after the wedding.

Thanks to the long veil, she didn't even get the chance to look at Haru's face, but she heard his voice.

Polite and calm as ever, accompanied by perfectly crafted manners to suit a prince.

She wondered what was hidden behind his perfect facade.

What a great facade it was too. How well her new husband hid the fact that he hated her, that he only married her for revenge, that he knew her secret.

He knew that she had killed his father.
