Belita POV:

my heartbeat slowly returning to normal, though I could still feel the warmth of his touch lingering on my skin. The adrenaline from our fight pulsed through me, and as I walked back to where the others were waiting, my thoughts kept drifting back to Kai.

His eyes—those icy blue eyes that held me captive during every moment of our clash. The way his hands had moved, strong and sure, pinning me against that wall. I could still feel the tension between us, the way the world had seemed to fall away when he leaned in close. It made me angry, how much I felt his presence, how much my heart refused to let go of that moment.

The vehicle came into view, and I let out a breath I hadn't realized I was holding. I opened the door and slipped inside, trying to shake off the memories that clung to me like a shadow. As I settled into my seat, Ashanti  turned to face me, her eyes scanning my face, clearly checking  if I was okay.  I sat besides Tiffany, while Ashanti sat beside Adeline who looked anxious.

"Are you feeling alright your highness?" Tiffany said caressing Adeline hands to reassure Her. " I'm alright..for now atleast" she replied.her voices still shaky from the ordeal she has experienced . "But who were those people ?" She asked.i looked at Ashanti and she nodded.

I sighed as Ashanti looked up at Adeline "those are the Evans, the second wealthiest mafia family in Roseville, also known as the Dee Lee rooche rivals, apparently they came here to kidnap you to persuade the king to make them royals" Ashanti explained. "That why they called my father for help,so we could protect you from them till further notice" I added. I looked at Adeline noticing she was  increasingly stressed.  "why didn't father tell me this.." she said.

I felt bad for her "I think he didn't want you to stress  since you are planning your wedding and soon becoming queen and you are pregnant as well" I said. Tiffany sighed "And that a lot of weight for you to carry."

"How am I supposed to plan my wedding and became queen if  people are after me..I mean they did send me a  random letter this morning,I didnt think much of it" she responded taking out a letter  from her dress pocket and handed it to me,I took it and slowly opened it as I read The letter I gripped it in anger.

"Watch your back Adeline"

"And that all they said?" Why didn't you tell anyone about this?" I asked "I didn't think much of it especially of all the Gala preparations."she said.

"Oh dear my fiancé is heading to the venue, unaware of the poor incident of what happened" she muttered.

"Don't worry your majesty, your whole royal family is at the Dee Lee rooche home safely and sound and we arriving there right now" Tiffany responded assuring her of the safety.

After we was done chatting, the car was silent as the driver drove us back home,I quietly looked at the car window They had no idea what I'd just been through, no clue about that tension, that charged moment that still burned in my memory. I tried to focus on the mission ahead, but I couldn't help the way my lips tugged upward every time I thought of him—of Kai and that maddening smirk.

It was reckless, dangerous, and absolutely against everything I stood for. But, for just a moment, I allowed myself to smile, to remember that thrill before the weight of my responsibilities settled back on my shoulders.

"We have arrived" the driver spoke, As we approached the Dee Lee Rooche estate, a mix of familiarity and unease settled in my chest. Our mansiom was massive, its elegant architecture gleaming under the lights. In the center of the courtyard, a beautiful water fountain danced, its sound calming.  We went out the car and I held Adeline hand although she  looked anxious, her fingers fidgeting with the hem of her dress. I could sense her discomfort,I smiled at her "it going to be alright Adeline, let get going  the others are waiting" I said, she sighed we all walked in the house and head to my dad head office, as My mother stood by the window, her expression a mix of worry and relief, while my father leaned against his desk, his jaw set in determination. The royal family was also present—the king and queen looked distressed, their faces etched with concern. Beside them, the prince fidgeted nervously, clearly anxious about the unfolding situation.
