A beautiful girl was sitting in her room, gathering her attire. They were moving today and it was nerve-wracking for the whole Y/l/n family. She wasn't used to these kind of changes. In fact, she hated changes overall.
Y/n was a half-witch, half-princess, but her parents kept the "witch part" in secret. They didn't want her to know just yet, since she would get overly excited and ask many questions. Her mother didn't like her asking question.
Even though she didn't know half of her origin, she knew she was royalty. Her life was filled with luxury, castles, beautiful dresses and tea parties, completely engulfed in the treasures of queenly life. If you ask her, she didn't mind. In fact, she loved the fact that she had things normal kids wouldn't.
The only "normal" kid she knew, was her secret best friend, whom she would sneak out with in her free time, excusing herself from her family dinners to "go read books in the library". Their favorite meet up place was in fact the forest. There they could run away from their daily problems, struggles and just relax, laughing and talking to each other. But now Y/n was moving castles. The other palace was a long way from this one, so she wouldn't be able to see her friend anymore, which made her sorrow."Y/nnn!" she heard her moms voice from downstairs "Have you completed your preparations for departure?"
"Not quite yet" she yelled back, putting a maroon dress into her suitcase. She stood up and went over to her closet. Tears rolled down her face as she thought of having to leave absolutely everything she had her whole life. She took out a golden necklace with pearls surrounding the middle and held it in her hand. Her eyes teared up. This was the beautiful amulet her friend gifted her on her 12th birthday. Y/n pulled the amulet closer to her heart and closed her eyes, relishing the moment. She came back to her senses after hearing a soft voice "Y/n, dear, are you ready?" the woman said, peeking through her door. Frida was Y/n's maid and mostly her motherly figure. Her mom, the queen, would always be busy with her dad, attending banquets, balls and political meetings, so she stayed with Frida in the castle. Frida was a lovely young woman, not much older than Y/n and she loved spending time with her, hosting tea parties, reading books in the library, singing and playing the old piano. Y/n really loved her and cherished every moment with her only friend in the castle walls.
"My apologies, not yet...i got a tiny bit distracted" she spoke quietly, almost in a whisper with a lump in her throat, trying to hide her face and her hot tears from the maid.Frida came closer, and embraced Y/n in a tight , comforting hug. She shared her feelings and wished to comfort her little girl. Y/n relaxed into the hug and let her feelings take over. She burst out in tears and gripped onto Fridas apron dress, hot tears flowing down her cheeks.
"I'm s-sorry..." she sobbed as she slightly pulled away, wiping her teary eyes.
"Aww, sweetie, it's okay not to be fine. I'm here for you, y'know that?" Frida gently caressed Y/n's cheek with her thumb, feeling the sorrow and pressure building up in Y/n's heart.
"Why are we moving, again?" she looked at her maid with pleading mixed with confusion in her eyes.
"Because your father is arranging a deal for your future marriage, Y/n" she replied with seriousness and sorry in her tone. That was the last thing she had heard before falling on the bed and curling up in tears. She despised the idea of getting married to some stranger, who would probably be much older than herself.
As she cried all her tears out, she stood up, walked back to her wardrobe, face still puffy and red, and looked inside to take out some skirts. Instead, what she found was...a light. The light beamed so bright that she winced her eyes in pain and in a matter of seconds, got pulled in the hole, which seemed to be a portal. She definitely wasn't ready for what she saw next...
