"Torrie" I yell. "Could you hand me my curler from my room?" I said while getting my shower ready.
"Yeah, do you need anything else before I leave to go to work?" she hands me the curler.
"I thought you didn't work today? I thought tonight was girls night?" I said while pulling up my hair.
"I'm so sorry they asked me too come in last minute, tomorrow night okay? I gotta run I'll see you later" she said while opening the front door then leaving.
I sighed, I guess today I'm going to be on my own. I took a quick shower and got dressed, throwing some shorts and a tie dyed t-shirt on, I let my my hair down exposing my natural waves then I walked over to the mirror to do my makeup, after I got done with everything I grabbed my purse then made my way out the door.
I decided on walking to a cafe 2 blocks down my apartment, that's what I loved about New York, everything was close by, while I was walking through the city my phone started ringing.
"hello?" I said
"Um..Hey" it was my ex boyfriend Joe.
"What do you want?" I said into the receiver, he cheated on me with my "friend" Casey. I always had a bad vibe from her but I never listened to my instincts.
"What are you doing tonight?" he smugly said.
"Goodbye" I hung up with anger.
I kept walking until I encountered 'Ray's Cafe', I walked in being greeted by the workers here, all the workers already knew me and my bestfriend Torrie, we come here alot so they already know what we order, it's quite funny actually.
I said hi to everyone while I made my way up the the cashier, I noticed it was someone new, he had really light blue eyes and dark brown hair. He was really attractive.
"Welcome to Ray's Cafe, what could I get you?" he smiled.
"I'll have a medium black coffee with cream and two sugars" I said smiling back. I gave him the money and sat down to wait for my coffee, I turned my phone on and saw I had 3 unread text messages, all from Joe. I ignore and delete all of them then shove my phone in my purse. I looked up and I saw the cute cashier staring at me. I looked away shyly not knowing what to do, if Torrie were here she would tell me to go talk to him. I should but I decide against it, my coffee is done and he brings me it. I read his name tag, it said 'Dylan' I like that name.
"Thank you, Dylan " I said grabbing my coffee from his hand.
"Your welcome, what's your name?" he says looking at me with those bright blue eyes.
"My names Bay" I said making eye contact.
"Bay...I like that name, I'm just starting my break do you mind if I join you?" he asked
"Thank you, and no, go ahead and sit down" I blush
He sat down infront of me and we just started talking about random things, he asked me for my number and of course I gave it too him, once his break was over he went right back too work and said he would text me later, I said goodbye and made my way out the cafe.
I kinda like him, he's so easy too talk too and he's hot, he goes to NYU just like me, and he's majoring in Mechanical engineering.
As I'm walking someone calls my name out, I turn around and its Joe, he's right behind me now.
"What? leave me alone, Joe" I tell him
"Come on, don't be like that I told you I was sorry now let's go get lunch or something" he grabs my arm
"And I told you too leave me alone! don't touch me!" I slap him
"Bitch" he grips my arm tighter, I wince.
He lets go of me when he sees a man walking over too us with an angry face, Joe backs away.
"This isn't the last time you will see me" he says then leaves
I look over at the man that was walking over to us but he's gone.
I shrug it off, as I'm walking back too my apartment, I kept feeling like someone was watching me, I looked around uncertain, but then that same man appears infront of me out of no where with fangs and black eyes.
